The link seems to open on a $99 shade, did you actually buy the $49 dollar one?
I currently see a 30% coupon to activate for the $99 one.

Made my own for under $30 , sunshade material from Jo Anne’s fabrics trimmed to fit perfectly, seamed the edges sewed in magnets ( cabinet magnet sets of Amazon) , then double sided taped metal plates on windshield, works perfectly and since it’s just fabric no boards etc so very compact easy storage. ??
Can you please post photos?

On my previous vehicle (Pacifica) I bought some Amazon magnetic hooks (neodynium) and shoved the hook side up in the gap between the front windshield and headliner, they held in fine by tension. Then I used metal binder clips on the edge of the accordian style sunshade so they matched up with the magnets. I could swap the sunshade pretty quickly this way. Still was a bit of a pain to stow it though.

Thats great. I did this with my RV, but I thought there would be challenges with the CT.

How do you reach the corners to secure it?

If you find that the double-sided tape is failing in the heat, crazyglue sticks to glass very well, and can be removed later with a razor.

I wish it were 30 miles a day. Of course, that's not likely.
Most likely can negate Sentry mode drain.

  • Net gain in full sun with Sentry on: The solar input (5-7 kWh/day) could mostly offset the reduced drain (6-10 kWh/day), resulting in a net loss of 1-5 kWh/day (or 2-12 miles) on average days, but a net gain of 0-5 miles on exceptionally sunny ones.

  • Without Sentry: Expect a net addition of 10-18 miles/day in good sun
I wish I could get a Solar panel that would keep my Cybertruck charged every day. 30 miles would be enough for most. Need a solar carport for that, like the Azure Bikes Solar Carport: 10 kW system for ~$12,900

Throwing monkey wrenches around. On the solar front. I was thinking of making a bed cap with solar on it. One thing that has been on my mind is pull out solar panels to make a shade spot to the side or back. Pulling out to the front is also possible. Flip the forward air deflector up. Extend a panel out to the front. Maybe the front air deflector is only mounted to the panel that goes forward.

still waiting on the promised solar tonneau. to all the people with shade issues - youve already put high uv block (not necessarily low vlt) tint on everywhere right? that made a huge difference for me.

any tint shop will sell it. its a feature of all window tint films. for heat rejection UV and IR blocking ratings are more important than VLT. if you choose to tint all the windows, you can have a tint with very high VLT - essentially clear-and high IR/UV blocking versus having limo tint that is impossible to see through which is very low VLT with LOW IR/UV blocking (its cheaper when the IR/UV blocking is lower) - your car will get hotter with the second product and the cops will also ticket you because its technically illegal lol.

I recently tinted mine. 45% and it's a game changer. I tried fighting the house sized screen and gave up.
