Just got mine installed yesterday and we were confused as well, since like others mentioned, their instructions said to test failover before leaving, but the option didn't show up.

Out of curiosity, for those that had the delay before it was active, did you see a version for your gateway? Mine currently just shows "--". This is in Home/Energy page -> Settings -> My Home Info

I can't even find that menu. Maybe it will show up when the option is available.

Mine was installed and commissioned on 9/24/24 and I still don't have the Powershare option in my Console\Charger screen. Installer said he has seen it takes weeks or just hours for Tesla to assign your CT VIN to the Powershare GW. I'm trying to get it working before Hurricane Helene comes through incase I lose power.

I've called Tesla support # and went through the menu to get to PS support but it just rings and then says can't help then hangs up. 877-798-3752 select 4-2-3-3-4. Tried it 5 times and same results. Seems impossible to get ahold of Tesla for anything.

When I called support, they had to transfer me to PS support as well. The guy I talked to implied you're better of calling the PS support number directly. No idea why.

That number for customers (different for installers) is 877.961.7652

I called Powerwall support (877.961.7652 option 2) and they are telling me after the GW commissioning it can take up to two weeks for the vin to get assigned and pushed out to the GW. Then the Powershare will show up in app and CT and can be used.

I got them to check if the commissioning was done and setup. My commissioning was correct and Tesla Powerwall support said everything looks good with my PS GW and wall connector.

And as I'm typing this my grid power goes out for 10 minutes then comes back on.

So the installer completed all of his work and we were ready to do a failover test. However, the Powershare option is missing from the CT's Charging menu. The installer saw this before. It was resolved by calling support and escalated to an engineer.

However, I just called support and they said the menu option will show up a couple weeks after Powershare is installed. This directly conflicts with the installer's instructions from Tesla which say they can't leave the site until a successful test.

Everything seems to be setup in the mobile app. Just no CT menu option.

Anyone else run into this? I assume my next move is to escalate with support.

My installer said that it is never working when they leave. Only once has he seen it actually in action and that was after he went back for the inspection. Mine is no different... All done, no function. Tesla told me that "It has to be manually entered and activated" by someone somewhere at Tesla. But, he COULD tell me that everything looked right and finished on his end.

Excellent! Would love to get an update to see if your experience is the same as others we're hearing.

How long did it take after your PowerShare Install to see it in the app?

They finished the install around 4pm on Wednesday, so only about a day and a half. Also, this was the first one this installer had done

Exact same thing just happened to me. 2024.32.5.4 just installed. A few mins later, Discover Powershare option showed up on mobile app. I am away from my truck so I took that opportunity to enable on the app. Once I did, I don't even see the option on the app anymore. Wondering if it just shows up once on the app then only accessible on the CT after that.

It shows up in the app in the Controls screen at the bottom.
Ok I feel really stupid but I never realized there were more options after the row of icons at the bottom of the controls screen. When I have tried to scroll, I never touched that low on the screen which is the only way to get it to scroll.

please tell me Im not the only one.

Not the only one :p I did the powershare tutorial... so I knew the settings were somewhere in the app since the tutorial drops you at them. But had no idea I could swipe up on that screen until today

Tested it out, and all worked great! Since the truck was awake, the switchover was less than a second. Then when I flipped the power back on, it waits for 5min to flip back to the grid (which is another <1s outage as it changes back over - makes sense, just hadn't thought about what happens when the power comes back)

Could anyone let me know what they see under their home, settings then WiFi?

Mine shows up as Powerwall and wall connector. Tesla is saying that the installer set it up as a powerwall and not Gateway.

I have the option to enable PowerShare in the truck but nothing happens (says communicating in the truck settings and chargers flashed blue) when I shut the outside disconnect. Under my home info I do see a gateway with no version.

What does everyone else have?
