Avoiding a class action lawsuit may give them the motivation to continue the R&D. I'm not sure how good the claims would be, but there are a lot of people who relied on the "promise" of "eventual PowerShare with Powerwall" when they purchased their CT - including me.PS with PW is not going to happen. Tesla would at least know a reasonably accurate timeline if they could do it. They don’t and can’t. They still haven’t figured out how wipers work. It will be canceled much like the CT battery, MX and MS. The CT is being repurposed as a delivery vehicle. Tesla has no ROI on further R&D for the current CT.
