OK, so like I did mention earlier, I don't know much about electricity and was just going on what the Q-Merit assigned contracted installer told me.

I would be curious to know how long the CT would keep the whole house powered though? I mean, running a whole house on a 6Kw generator for days is possible beause you keep refueling it, right?

Sure, if there is fuel available, you can keep a generator running indefinitely. We still have generator hook up available if needed.
Cybertruck can run the house 4+ days, and we could make a run to a Supercharger if needed to recharge. (Assuming it's only an outage on out rural line).

Cybertruck deliveries are not looking great so far in 2025.

-Q4 2024 = 12,991 units
-Q1 2025 = 6,406 units

For Q1 that works out to 533 Cybertruck’s built per week. That’s a measly 133 CT’s per day (4-day work week).

The rumor is a lot of CT assembly line workers were shifted over to the Model Y line in Austin.

We will see if the RWD trim helps pickup CT sales. At $70k with major de-contenting of equipment my guess is no.

I love the CT and want it to be a success in the full size BEV pickup truck segment but these numbers are discouraging.

What's particularly discouraging is that sales have been falling even though starting prices have also been falling. If lower prices don't stimulate sales, what will?

3Q 2024: Only the Foundation Series is available, starting price $100K. Best quarter for CT sales.
4Q 2024: Non-Foundation Series becomes available, starting price now $80K. Sales drop.
1Q 2025: Federal tax credit becomes available, starting price now $72.5K with credit. Sales drop again.
2Q 2025: RWD should become available, starting price now $62.5K with credit. Will sales rise?

The outlook for late 2025 is cloudy, but price increases seem more likely than further decreases, due to possible tariff impacts and the possible loss of the tax credit.

However, after double checking my 2024 taxes, I filed as "head of household" ($225k MAGI limit) and not single ($150k MAGI limit). So the "retail/POS" tax credit is back in play for me. Much easier than commercial clean tax credit or family co-buyer shenanigans.

I'm back to waiting for another 1.99% loan "sale" + FSD transfer. Coming June 2025 or October 2025.

The vehicle has to be eligible AND the buyer has to be eligible. You aren't eligible for the tax credit if your income is above a certain level. You can see the eligibility requirements at the Tesla website. Basically:

Your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) cannot exceed a certain limit based on your tax filing.

Married Couple Filing Jointly: $300,000
Head of Households: $225,000
Other: $150,000

Most Americans make less than $150,000 per year, so this is a non-issue for them. But some unfortunate people with high incomes do run into a problem here.

Exactly what I said to sales leader at Littleton, Colorado service center. Or like S/X, paid FSD gets an upgrade of either interior color or Core to Cyber wheels.

Looks grim compared to the 2 million reservation list for sure.
I am hopeful that Tesla can turn the momentum around with the CT, it is a great vehicle and is better for all owners if more are on the road.

Even if I don't end up buying one, I'd like to see it succeed. Unfortunately, I'd say stick a fork in it as it's done.

The new de-contented one is too little too late, and I think it is a horrendous value. It is slow, and loses a lot of the more interesting things about the truck and is overpriced on top of it.

I think CT sales will continue to free-fall, and Tesla will have to cut prices even more to move the inventory. They clearly waited too late to do this and will likely have to cut more than they would have if they'd done it soon while there was still some demand. It is like overpricing your house in the market, and Elon was drinking too much of his own Kool-Aid.

This raises a question that I personally need to answer. Is there a price that is low enough for me to overlook the shortcomings that really bother me, and prevented me from buying one already? That is a challenging one to answer, as if it gets to the number I have in mind, its sales will have totally crashed and burned. It would probably not be a good idea to buy one unless I planned on never selling it.

I think their pricing model is odd at best. It's always unpredictable whether you are buying a CT or a Model Y. The one thing they absolutely get you on is financing. The interest rates with these discounts basically generates almost a wash. I got the 2024 Foundation AWD because I got 1.99% financing. The current rate is anywhere from 5.9 to 8.94% (84 months....). So, it's not really a savings at all. You can run your amortization table and calculate the difference.

$10k off ‘24 FS with free supercharging plus the loyalty discount good enough for me…..37k VIN so here’s hoping it’s a decent build. Passed on a delivery last month due to fitment/damage issue on a 25 model, hoping this is better.
