Date: Aug-03-2024
Tesla Model: Cybertruck Foundation Series
Vin# (last 6 digits): 02006x
Odor meter: 545 miles
Age: 4 weeks (28 days, delivered: Jul-5)
Software: v12 ⁦(2024.20.9 1a02147be9af)⁩

Issue: The red flashing message “Pull Over Safely. Critical Issue Detected”

Details: This is a data point of CT FS issues in our CT Owners Club Forum; and this is not an insult message to Tesla engineering. The CT ran fine yesterday. This morning I backed it out from garage and surprisingly found the issue (see photo); and here are my main actions:
Calm and patiently read the pop-up messages and followed (without any good results) > Called the Roadside Assistance > Rode the tow truck to Tesla Service Center > Drop off the CT > Pickup a loaner Model-Y and drive home > Waiting for updating messages in Tesla App (The estimated service time is 1 week).

Notes:
-Many of us (early CT FS adopters) had encountered/reported this issue and Tesla Service Center has been overwhelmed.
-Stat data in this forum: 22 owners reported this issue in 5 months time frame (Mar-05 to Aug-03 2024).
-Tesla services and engineering should have good feedback loop for analyzing the root cause and providing proactive resolutions.
-This issue for sure will drag down the CT profit margin and wearing out users’ patience.

Sadly CT owners maybe are the most patient customers in the world, start with 4 years wait from reveal night, then wait for email invitation , then wait for VIN, then wait for delivery, now wait for the fix.

on top of that, there is another group is waiting for the non fs coming out.

It is a scarry message. I was accelerating hard over a bump and got it. I was about to have it towed but powered down and waited a few minutes. When I hit the brake everything powered up normally and no issues since. That has been several weeks ago and no issues since. My guess is that wheel spun and caused a sensor to think something was wrong.

Same thing here. After exiting the vehicle and reentering it cleared, but this doesn’t give me confidence to take it deep into the mountains.
Thanks for reporting.
Now the incident of this issue (ref: “Pull Over Safely. Critical Issue Detected” message) goes to 23 reported in 5 months time frame in this owners forum.

[In my case: The issue is persisted and reproducible. It went away with either exiting truck or rebooting its computer; but it keeps coming back on driving (about 50 feet) backward/forward.]

Here’s what Tesla diagnosed with my ct.

I had the exact same thing happen. I was not a big fan of pulling over and getting out of the truck every few miles but it made it to Tesla service ?

Thanks for chiming in. Your incident likely to be 24th reported in this forum (unless you already posted this issue separately).

Update: I pickup my cybertruck from Tesla Service today at 3:30pm. The turnaround time is 5 days. The issues are as in ‘Service Summary’ in Tesla app below:
Tesla Cybertruck Pull Over Safely. Critical Issue Detected. IMG_1490

Apparently, we are driving a computer with sensors on wheels. The red flashing message “Pull Over Safely. Critical Issue Detected” is quite ambiguous and need more diagnostics for narrowing down to real issue/s.

I hope Tesla has compiled an internal knowledge database for addressing issues found quickly. The 5 days turned around time is a long waiting (and there is no CT loaner in Tesla Services). The incident in my case may indicate for room for improvement in CB manufacturing/engineering (A new CT with 500 miles driven in city streets has problem as reported in the Service Summary, my driving score = 97).

Same here, just got the error this morning. My confidence on taking this on a road trip is sinking, unfortunately.

I’m having same issue. Happened 3 times in 2 days and was getting worse. Towed to Tesla last week. Still there with sparse updates and slow response times. The annoying thing with cybertruck service is you have to take the truck to them to validate your concerns, and because they never have parts in stock, you have to take it back when they arrive in a couple of weeks.

Brought it to them earlier in July for same issue and they said it should have been resolved with a firmware update. Wrong!
