There's nothing partisan whatsoever in my response, unless you are talking as between drivers who prefer "chill" mode (aka the stereotypical Prius driver) and those who prefer Beast mode.

I have friends who have driven Prius and none or "hippie motherfuckers" or of any particular "hyper-partisan" group (presumably politically partisan in your hostile parlance). One worked in the Bush/Pence Administration in fact.

So, unless you feel like me implying someone who suggested we drive our CTs/CBs in chill mode is hyper-partisan and douche baggie--in which case, enjoy yourself in your angry rant, b/c I couldn't careless what you think--then you've completely misread the thread and my comment.

I don’t know what a Prius driver looks like in your neck of the woods but where I’m from every single one of them is doing in better than 20 miles over the speed limit. In fact on the I-15 I rarely see a Prius not doing 90.

The outlets don’t shut off when supercharging, they shutoff when using an AC charger. When I’ve done such I’ve also had the ability to hook up an extension cord to power the things plugged into the outlets. Tesla could change that but it’s a big hardware change and they obviously made the decision not to implement it.

Tesla may be working on simultaneous AC charging and limited outlet power. The existing PCS hardware could possibly support that due to multiple conversion sections.

I would really love a range extender alternative that didn’t occupy so much room in the truck bed. I only need about 330 miles of total real world range , so probably 40-50 miles of extra range as an auxiliary battery.

Do you think a range extender that occupies the vault storage compartment and leverages the existing available connections for the the forthcoming range extender would be a viable solution ? Is someone developing this yet?

The Range Extender has some obvious drawbacks: it is heavy, bulky, expensive, and currently unavailable. Unfortunately, there are no signs of any "range extender alternatives" at this time.

The only obvious alternatives would be either (1) a smaller auxiliary battery, or (2) a gasoline-powered (or diesel-powered) generator that could recharge the main battery while driving.

Tesla has not indicated that any smaller versions of the Range Extender are in development. And integrating any auxiliary battery with the existing Cybertruck hardware and software is going to be tricky. Tesla presumably can do it, but it's unlikely that any third-party battery would work, unless Tesla cooperated.

Other EVs have used generators to extend range; for example, the BMW i3 used a BMW motorcycle engine to generate electricity, the forthcoming Ramcharger will use a Chrysler V6, and the forthcoming Scout will probably use some engine from the VW family. The Ramcharger claims 690 miles of range.

But Tesla has never done this, and since they are a pure EV company, they don't have ready access to gasoline engines. I suspect that Elon would never allow a Tesla to be equipped with a "dirty" gasoline engine from a "legacy" car company. And again, it seems unlikely that a third-party generator would be able to recharge a Tesla while driving, unless Tesla cooperated.

Fair differentiation and one I can relate to . . . albeit gravitating more toward (unnecessary?) assertiveness instead of aggressiveness. My success in that regard is likely in the eye of the beholder/counterparty.

I also represent a corporate client, so we appear to have good taste in trucks and clients in common as well.

I didn't know the answer to the necktie reference, but probably because no one threw that joke my way since I'm not "unnecessarily aggressive!" (I found the answer on Reddit and it's hilarious. I'll be sharing that joke now.)

In Florida I can be doing 70 and see a Prius pass me doing at least 90! I have never seen a Prius on a main road going under the post limit and usually twenty over! They are speed demons here!

Damn! Based on your and @dalton108's feedback, I'll be dropping the Prius stereotype . . . at least to the extent it applies to speed. However, as to acceleration--I sense the primary source of battery drain, just like the primary source of my sub-10 mpg in my now-former TRX--I sense the Prius comment still holds true. (A matter of capacity over driver mentality perhaps.)

To each their own, but I happily cede max range for gratuitous Beast accelerations. I'm slowly habituating to it, as I pass out as a result of the g-force less often now 5 months in.
