Now that range numbers are surfacing, has you plans for the Cybertruck been altered?
The range numbers are well within expectations if you're a current Tesla owner.

The stated ranges are EPA estimates, not Tesla real-world ranges.

Vehicle size, temperatures, tire size, speed, and other factors are well-known detriments to range in an EV (or a gasoline powered vehicle for that matter).

For the low percent of people who are going to tow a significant amount, Tesla has simply calculated those folks are out until they have adequate battery supply.

There is a point of diminishing returns on batteries. More batteries = heaver = less range = more batteries = heavier, etc, etc.

Tesla is battery constrained. I expect a longer range version in a few years once sales start lagging. There is absolutely no reason for Tesla to offer a longer range version today, they will sell every single one they make for the next 2-3 years. Less batteries = more units = $$$.

The range extender takes away to much of the bed I want a pop up and a bigger battery. Camp mode eats the battery up quick. Adventures will be extremely limited due to the small battery.

No evidence that they are battery constrained unless you listen to the FUD pieces in the news. Right now they have many other constraints as they try to ramp, batteries are not an issue and probably won't be for this year.

Only that Tesla has said as much themselves in their earnings calls. It's well known that the 4680's will ramp with the CyberTruck. Right now, they are 4680 constrained.

Interested in the range extender but need more info before i commit. I'd like it to be removable
Agreed. I will most likely order one after they are available and being used to see exactly what additional range it will provide. It would be useful to have additional juice in cold climates. Now I wonder if two super chargers could be used simultaneously to charge the chassis pack and the bed pack?

They have been producing and used 4680's with the Model Y. With the amount of VIN's being produced with the Cybertruck, they are not battery constrained. If they are battery constrained, which they are not, it means the batteries being produced are having serious issues and we will see a few thousand Cybertrucks the entire 2024.

The ramp of 4680's is far ahead of Cybertruck production right now and will be for awhile.

They stopped using 4680’s in the Y in December, due to better supply constraints.

Where’s your proof they are not 4680 contained?

Nobody has "proof" of anything lol

I assume they stopped using 4680's in the Y so they could ramp the Cybertruck. AFAIK no one has hard numbers on cell production run rate.

So your argument for being battery constrained is me proving they are not?

How many Model Y's did they make a month before the stopped? How many Cybertrucks are they making right now? 1 Cybertruck = 2 Model Y's with batteries. They were making thousands of Model Y's with 4680's and making dozens of Cybertrucks right now. Doesn't seem like a battery constraint to me.

It’s well known, go listen to the earnings call. Tesla plainly said they would be battery constrained and would ramp 4680s with the truck.

Since you’re contradicting Tesla the burden is on you, show your work.

Wrong! Just take a look at Foundation orders, 1/4th opted for the range extender. I think it will go higher now that we know the range numbers aren’t great.

Tesla needs to make the pack removable.

What’s wrong?

Do you mean a random poll on this unofficial forum? Really? That’s your source? Okay… ?

There already said it was service center installed and not removable.

It’s direct feedback from people ordering the truck!
