Important to note, Tesla is strongly pushing to lower the cost of vehicles. Every Tesla owner or potential owner to keep that in mind before they purchase. “Lower prices” each few years models = high depreciation. I’ve always told that to people who ask me about my Teslas.
So, if you prefer to buy a new vehicle every few years (3 or 5 years) then you’ll be more costly for you than if you bought a different vehicle be it EV or otherwise.

**My 2 cents worth.

I am about to pick up my Foundation series Cybertruck on Saturday. It has around 400 miles on it, it’s brand new. Total cost out the door is $106,000 but I am financing for 1.99 APR and I’ll put down $30,000 and unlimited super charging. It has grey interior (the white looks better but it could end up looking stained I’m assuming)

I expect all the past updates and corrections that have happened over the past year have also been done to this one.

do you all think my price point is good?

nobody I know wants me to buy it. And most everyone hates Elon and thinks Tesla is a bad company because of Nazis and Elons political reality.

I couldn’t care less about politics. I love this vehicle.
Regarding price point: Going core wheels or grey interior cuts the value of Foundation Series.
With all terrain tires, grey interior, and FSD, a new non FS-AWD is $91,500 before taxes and fees, also with 1.99% financing. So it depends on how much Supercharging you would use.
Black/core/AWD non-FS are in inventory at $75k. So $81k with FSD.

Same situation regarding social stigma of the truck, some of my associates were asking me not to buy. Hope you fuckos on this forum are cool because you’re my only friends now. J/k

honestly though you can usually see a change in a person’s eyes if the subject (ct) comes up.

I’m in an apartment so I’ll have supercharge as my only way to charge.
And I would take it on many road trips for the many many years I’d drive it.
Those numbers you told, they leave out $9,000 or so taxes I think

In that case, FS + SC is a good deal.
I called out lack of taxes and fees because I wasn't sure how much over the 7.5% CA sales tax you got charged. At 10%, it's ~$6k for the Supercharger and lifetime connectivity which works out well since you don't have home charging.
$5k / 0.40 = 12.5MWh/400Wh/mile = break even at 30k miles (less due to climate usage and highway).

This isn’t political per se. but as we all know, all of our cyber trucks have had a rapid depreciation due to the non Tesla related antics of its CEO. If I’d have known this is where we’d end up, despite the fact that I love my truck, I wouldn’t have bought it. Now I can’t get out of it because it’s worth less than I owe. Curios if any attorneys on here think there is a class in the making.
There maybe upcoming class action by stockholders.

But I doubt it in Cybertruck's drop in resale value. It's buyers beware in most cases unless there is misrepresentation by seller.

The OP has a good point. I bought my wife a Lexus RX350h at the same time as my Cybertruck. The Lexus has INCREASED in value by $10k, mostly because it’s the best selling hybrid right now. Also Lexus has since increased the MSRP of new ones.

I love my Cybertruck and have no plans on selling it anytime soon. However I did tell my wife that the only new car we’re ever buying in the future is a Lexus. Anything else we’ll buy used, to minimize the depreciation.

Yeah, these guys who want to pound OC like he’s some kind of idiot are just either stupid or disingenuous. There are no other options. I don’t take kindly to either camp.

1. In fact, Elon has asserted on multiple occasions that Tesla would be appreciating assets. I know this is an inconvenient fact that many of these guys want to forget, diminish, gaslight about or otherwise remove from the record. [And the first one to come in and try to suggest that something’s being misinterpreted misconstrued or what have you [at least that I can still see] will be @REM. @HaulingAss got so tired of me kicking his ass that he had admin do something where I can’t even see his posts and I’m I’m assuming he can’t see mine. [This is definitely for the best!]

2. It would’ve been simple for Elon to deliver on this promise if he hadn’t have taken all of his focus off of Tesla and turned it to being Citizen Bane.

a. It would’ve been “easy, barely an inconvenience:”

i. Don’t shit on your brand so people won’t want to buy it.

ii. Spend every waking moment getting FSD done and shipped so that you could keep your promise that it would be a Robotaxi and I would be making at least $30,000 a year and I wouldn’t want to sell it because I would have to price the car as a business and in that instance I wouldn’t want to sell it for less than $300,000 (near exact quote from autonomy day video from 2019/2020 - I watched it live and made purchasing decisions based upon this representation).

iii. Raise the price of FSD as planned (which would’ve been possible if you did i & ii, above). Link it to the car and honor the price when you take trade-ins because if it’s not part of the car and you don’t value it no one else will!

3. Even in the absence of doing anything in paragraph #2 (which would’ve made these appreciating assets), it’s still doable as you note and one company is doing it consistently! TOYOTA!!!

Your Lexus and my Toyota FJ Cruiser are in the exact same boat. I can sell my 2013 FJ for the same or more than I paid for it in 2014 and it has more than 100,000 miles on it! The FJ cruiser, like the CT is also a concept car brought to market and while one is becoming more and more toxic by the minute the other is about as beloved as a vehicle can be.

It didn’t have to be this way for the CT!

The class action should be against the organized groups trying to sabotage Tesla. Whether You believe Elon is right or wrong he had the right to buy Twitter and eliminate censorship. He has the right to try and do what he can to reduce the 37 trillion dollar deficit. Can you see the bias in my reply??

Anyone who believed Tesla would be an appreciating asset is living outside of reality. Elon lies often...there was a court case regarding his FSD timelines, statements like "No Tesla will ever need new brakes for the life of the vehicle", etc. and the court ruled them to be corporate puffery, not lies or misleading.

The only vehicles that increase in value are classics and supply constrained/rare vehicles. That doesn't apply to any Tesla and typically EVs depreciate at a higher level due to fears of 2nd hand battery ownership.

It's naive that you believe you will be able to enter your vehicle into a RT program anytime in the near future. That's been promised since 2016, every single year. Even when FSDU is starting in 2 cities, it will be with Tesla owned vehicles and Tesla employees to start.

The fact that you can trade a CT in for 75-80k today, when you can buy a new one for that is unheard of for Tesla. My 2021 MY dropped 30% 1 week after I purchased it (I was going to trade it for a MS). It's always been that way and Tesla puts almost 0 value in FSD in a trade in. When I traded a different MY in for my CT Tesla, Carvana, and Carmax told me they don't assign any value to FSD. In a third-party sale most claim it's worth between $1,500 and $2,500.

It's not fake. It's literally on my Carvana offer still. Actually its lower than the email they sent me 2 weeks ago lol. Not sure why it's so low for me. But doesn't matter.
