Remove crossbars for tonneau service ?

Having the tonneau water ingress service performed on Monday. Should I remove these cross bars? Will they be in the way?

Yeah, having the SC decide to remove them and scratch them or asking you to do it there is like looking for a reason to be disappointed or outraged.

Given you need a (nonuniversal) key to remove them, it would make sense to remove them before service.

I got my SC reschedule my appointment to fix water ingress they requested all accessories in the bed and roof removed. it makes sense I just wished they would have told me beforehand

At the risk of asking what may be an obvious question -- what is the tonneau water ingress service? I do sometimes see some water stream down the back panel of the truck bed when I wash the vehicle, but was told that was normal? Or is this something else?

That is what we are talking about here. They now have a fix for that issue that involves installing a new seal and adding 1-2 metal slats to the cover.

When I inquired about the leak in the bed one service writer told me that it was normal and “wasn't guaranteed to be waterproof” and that they did not have a fix for it. A friend told me that he had his leak fixed at a different service center, so I knew to question this response but waited.

I went in for the service appointment for different matters at a time later and inquired from a different writer at the original location where I had been turned down. They wrote it up and solved the leak. No questions asked …. They said they realigned some of the slats. It may pay to be persistent.

I had this done and came home with an extra bar across the rear window? I still can't get an answer if it's correct or a new blunder. I still have ingress. I think all I need was the new sail with rubber flap.
