Sentry at Home

Noticing Sentry is draining battery while sitting in my garage (connected to wall connector but scheduled to run at midnight).

Trim: Cyberbeast

Questions:
1. Anyone running sentry at home?
2. Any reason the vehicle needs to sleep? E.g. someone mentioned phantom issues are resolved when vehicle sleeps

I have had 0 problems with vehicle so don’t want to change anything unless it’s critical.

No. Why? You want to record the mice in your garage or do you have teens who may take it when you aren’t around? There is a setting to turn it off when at home. Why not leave it plugged in and it’s moot? If you are in an apartment complex, then I get it. Expect to lose a few percent each day.

It should sleep unless you keep checking in your app every 30 minutes.

Curiously, Sentry mode does not pull from shore power, although pre-conditioning does.

Of course, you’re correct that home and/or work locations can be excluded from Sentry.

Sentry eats 10% per day. Up to you if you want to turn it off.

Right, but if you are pushing 48 amps, the batt will recharge fast to make up for it. But yeah, why is Sentry on at home?

I don’t run sentry mode at home because we have cameras in the garage and around the house.
