When did Tesla say just over 400,000? In 2019? I deposited early January, 2020, and I’m around 460,000. Does NBC not have updated stats?
I'm pretty sure Musk said 500k back in 2019.

Someone is getting creative with facts.

Honestly... if you rely on NBC for news you have much bigger problems then this though.

Looks nice. Inside and out.
I came away understanding that the WT = 39K but if you wanted the 400 mile range on it it was gona be a extra option. The price of that option will be important.

ELse a nice try. But Dealer markup is gona be nuts if the F150L is to go by.

TOp of the range 105K GM is nutters!
My takeaway as well. I thought they very purposefully mixed prices, dates, and options in flashy unclear way. Almost like they have a full time marketing team worrying more about the how they can mislead without actually lying.

39k? For a base model with no details on what it is...
20,000 pound towing? for a future to be announced version
400 mile range? "GM estimated"
Deliveries? "Starting next year with some models"

Overall I thought the truck looked pretty interesting, but I am just so turned off by all the corporate BS in the presentation and all the marketing slight of hand.

350kw charging is great assuming the charge curve is similar to current top battery chemistries.

It didn't look terrible... I reserved one. Let's see how this plays out.

Tesla Cybertruck SilveradoEV 2024 deets finally revealed: 1641423495551

Should they be allowed to show something so obviously false in the advertising?
22.2 mi/kWh???? so the 400Mi battery is only 18kWh? LOL.

Well looking at the range indicator, it's a 1,999 mile range so 45 kWh.

Presumably (quoting Joe Izuzu here) "downhill in a hurricane".

I think the best news from this Chevy reveal was that you could get 400 miles out of the lowest base model; the fleet model. A projected 400 miles out of a projected $39k truck. That's pretty sweet.
And it's only going to happen in the next two years if your middle name is "Gullible".

One other thought here.

Much like the Cybertruck, this design makes the truck a lot less adaptable to normal truck accessories. The little triangle support thing and lack of a normal front wall means bed covers, caps, and lumber racks are going to have to be specific to the EVilanche SilvErado

Not sure about that $40k base model, but the $100k founders edition is a reskin of the Hummer. They shouldn't have too much trouble getting it out by 2023.

Someone mentioned the size and it is decent.

A minor quibble though. My Tundra with a 6'6" bed is just barely long enough to fit a mountain bike. At 5' 11", they will definitely be diagonal and 3 bikes will be tight... 4 almost impossible.

As I said... a quibble. For me 5'11" is tolerable and likely the Cybertruck's useful bed will be that size (maybe smaller!).
True, an X-Large 29'er can actually exceed 6 1/2 feet! I'll be disappointed if the Cybertruck bed is shrunk less than 6'.

Over the past few years mountain bikes have gotten longer and longer wheelbases and slacker head tube angles.

My hope is I can get 2 bikes under the vault cover (carefully stacked) or 3 in the bed standing up. Much less than 6 foot both of those things get difficult.

I can hear Elon screaming at his CT design team: "stop everything, we need a mid gate NOW"!!!

I love all these EV's coming out. It's the most fresh the auto industry has been in my lifetime.

This one's good but not as nice as the other trucks available to me. I generally do not like GM interiors, and this one can't seem to shake it... and it lacks the dramatic innovation of Tesla and Rivian.

I do like that it has the buttresses - to encourage the aftermarket for trucks with non traditional box sides - and of course the mid-gate, since Elon seems determined to have every feature on every truck. The odds of the CT having the mid just went up by 75% by my math.
