Someone sliced my tire. I'm not losing air, is it ok to drive on it until they restock with new ones???

I'd go with a "No" in this situation. The question is WHEN will the tire catastrophically fail? One day when parked away from home? 70 mph on the highway? With your family on board?

Nope. I'm sorry to say I disagree with anybody that would say that would be a tire to say is safe or watch. It will fail and it will likely fail catastrophically in that point. Hopefully you can still control the vehicle when that happens And it is just a low speed bump that makes it fail.

Are you that sure about someone, and you didn't slice into something? When I slice tires I usually go for all four.

I highly recommend getting your tires insured. We have ours insured with Discount Tire. It cost $396 for all 4.
If something like this happens they will replace the tire.

I’ve had every car insured this way and have always come out ahead.

It’s a 6,600 pound vehicle. That tire failing at highway speeds will be catastrophic.

I picked up a brand-new OEM Tire/Wheel as a spare on eBay for $525 plus shipping. This was a "take-off" that ended up being from T-Sportline (based on the return address on the shipping label). There are a lot of full sets available but a few single tire/wheels pop up now and again. Only down-side of the one I bought was no TPMS, they had likely removed it for the aftermarket wheels they gave their customer. If you want TPMS on your replacement, there are probably some available with that. You could keep the damaged one around as a spare in the event you get another flat etc, probably fine to use for short distances in a pinch.

If you are going to drive, do it locally at slower speeds. No highway driving or long distance. Assume it will blow at the most inconvenient time.

That looks more like something hit the tire, I don’t think someone did that. That aside I agree with cord thought process. If it is surface you may be fine. I would look for a replacement, maybe some tires from eBay like others have said. Might be able to find someone local to you that will chip in on a set that you can split with them. Both walk away with two tires or some such.

That looks more like something hit the tire, I don’t think someone did that.

Agree, if you look closely you can see a small cut to the right of the large one (red arrow) a scuff on the face of the tire beyond that (yellow circle) and maybe slight in-line damage to the rim (green arrow). Overall more like a curb strike or something, I've had similar on Teslas over the years.

Sidewall damage is a no go on continuing to drive it. Get it checked out/swapped ASAP. Tires suck like that, but that's just owning cars for you.

Also, that cut appears too uneven to be a knife imo, just a thought.

I thought about doing the same however to my understanding, Discount Tire is unable to replace our current Goodyear tires since they're specifically made for the Cybertruck and Tesla. Have you heard differently or have additional details on how Discount Tire would handle these types of situations?

We went to the local Discount Tire here in Cheyenne. They confirmed they can get the exact same tire in about 2 days since they are stored in Denver. The tires retail for $580 each. The guy helping us showed us the order screen and they are indeed the same.

We were the second Cybertruck to insure tires there this week.
