Maybe because it's his wife's refrigerator. She had to buy something with all those dollar bills she earned.
Haven't we all heard "Get out of my kitchen!" ?

The DeLorean is 304 stainless steel. For maintenance, I have found just a damp microfiber cloth works best for removing fingerprints. I found the stainless polishes look really good for about 10 minutes. Then they start collecting dust and debris. Any product you use creates a film when it dries, so just plain water works best. I expect the same for the Cybertruck

On Saturday, the Florida Club was at Ace Cafe in Orlando. There were 11 shiny, streak free cars present.

Years ago, when considering purchasing a DeLorean, I had emailed Opticoat whom makes imo one of the best ceramic coatings and had correspondence with Dr. Ghodoussi. He is the founder of Opticoat. I had used ceramic coatings on multiple vehicles by this point and asked him if he recommended it for the stainless steel in the DeLorean. He said no as it will not adhere properly to bare stainless panels.

His recommendation was to simply use Optimum No Rinse (ONR for short) but the wash and wax version. I never did end up, unfortunately, purchasing a DeLorean but I have used ONR many a time in the winter inside the garage when it’s too cold out to wash and the product is amazing. I feel ONR will be a welcomed product for many once their Cybertrucks hit their garages/driveways. I will add, I wouldn’t use it if you were off-roading and there is mud or heavy dirt on the vehicle but for regular maintenance washes, it’ll work well.
The absolute easiest way that I have found to protect and shine both my vehicles and stainless kitchen appliances is with ICE SEAL N SHINE. The trick is to apply it so a wax surface builds. Spray it on, than use a single piece of paper towel to wipe the surface, so the paper towel remains call wet with the wax, and spread the wax so the surface is still wet with small wax beads remain. . Don’t over work it. It allows the wax to build. Allow to dry for about an hour and come back over it with micro rags….or not …it gives a pretty nice protective shine with out doing anything more. Once every few months I spray a whole bottle on my 15 year old FJ. It has never been garaged and the paint still looks new. I intend to test it on the Cybertruck if I ever get it. The difference is a Stainless fridge is coated and I don’t think the Cybertruck will be.
This YouTube falls right in-line with what you guys are talking about.

The DeLorean Owners Manual recommends cleaning with gasoline, but only for stubborn stains like road tar.

No one douses a DeLorean in gasoline except for angry ex-wives lol

Can you imagine cleaning your Cybertruck with Gas. "Dude, why does your EV smell like gas"?

I guarantee that detailers and PPF shops will make bank on Cybertruck owners who listen to their "recommendations".

This detailer on the left said he uses steel wool on stainless exhausts "to bring them back". You never want to use steel wool on your Cybertruck. Period. I posted about this before.

The best product for a stainless steel vehicle is no product. No wax. No shine.
Just a mild soap, rinse well. Dry panels quickly. Simple.

As I posted earlier, between washes, I use a damp microfiber cloth to wipe my DeLorean down to remove fingerprints and dust. I make sure the cloth is clean and doesn't have any sand or anything abrasive in it.

Yes, Isopropyl alcohol is good to strip away any film buildup.

I use mineral spirits to remove road tar or grease. Then clean the area with what I said above.

I never heard any DeLorean owner using gasoline. I'm sure it works on road tar and grease, but there are better (more mild, less volatile) chemicals that work (like mineral spirits).

Bar Keeper Friend and Shiela Shine are good once a year or as needed to remove oxidation and return the DeLoren panels to their virgin state. *However* these products have an abrasive so I'm not sure how they will affect the Cybertruck finish, which is not brushed like the DeLorean. You may end up polishing the panel like they discuss in the video.

We'll find out soon enough. 3 more days to Nov 30!

I've seen this polished DeLorean in person. It's dazzlingly bright in daylight.

(HINT: bring your eclipse glasses)

Steel wool is probably OK on exhaust, since it's hot AF, but I would never use it on a panel. I would avoid all abrasives on the panels until the effect is better understood; I fear it will be possible to create a "near-factory" appearance but it will never get back to the "virgin" state.

Another good choice for surface cleaning is the synthetic chamois. They're very absorbent and leave little residue that can be wiped away easily with a towel. It's also very effective at cleaning the inside glass.
