I started out with a homemade suction cup and bungee mount on the glass roof. The roof slope does not match the desired tilt orientation and the azimuth is only correct if you can park on the given heading. The bottom line is it’s ok for basic stuff but inconsistent for TEAMS video meetings (not good enough for biz meetings). It also interferes with my roof shade that I use when working or sleeping in the back seat.
I then found you can get the proper tilt and orientation by simply setting it on the dash and that works great when parked. But that doesn’t work if you do any hard accelerations, braking, or turning — the Starlink slides around the dash and can be hazardous to occupants, the windshield, or the display (ask me how I know).
I then figured out that I can use two of my suction cups on the back of the display and a single velcro strap/bungee to hold it down to the top of the display (I put a rubber tape strip on the Starlink to protect the display top). The tilt is close enough and the partially obstructed view is good enough that it works well enough for most things. And if I need optimum performance it only takes 30 seconds to unstrap and set it on the dash and spin it to the best azimuth.
