Yes it’s tricky but what are they going for if you know? Any way to prove it’s legitimate? Thanks in advance

Expensive? Check out the Chevy EV and the $40k starting price! Comes with free unicorn, puppy dog, and gas tank full of hundred dollar bills. /s

It seems as if were successful with their video, they made money.

But truth and reality is lacking.

Tesla has essentially said that they are not taking orders in reservation number order. (California and Texas first and then slowly open to other states.)

When they announced the $79,990 price for the AWD (which was the minimum trim I would want if I couldn't get the Beast) I pretty much gave up hope of enjoying any tax credit anyway, because all you need to add is $11 (or more) in accessory costs and you'd be over the $80K tax credit price threshold anyway.
So since the FS already comes with most of what I would have ordered, I went ahead and just configured one.
Because ... YOLO and carpe diem and all that. ?

I just watched the video and they're struggling for accurate information. From the lightbar on the dual motor to how limited the foundation series is. People are choosing not to order the foundation, but some are. It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out.
Torque News seems convinced it is only 1000, based on previous Tesla limited editions. But if Tesla makes as many as they can sell, that's not really a "Limited Edition," which Tesla has officially identified the Foundation Series as.

That screen shot suggests that it was early December from the delivery dates offered. It appears as if Tesla has changed it's mind. It's still a limited edition, just a little larger.

It’s a pure money grab by Tesla. A limited edition model would normally be 100 to 250 units.
A pure money grab which is driven by Wall Street.

But Tesla has indeed sunk a lot of money into the creation of the Cybertruck. I thnk that it it is quite fair that they would like to give those who were waiting with what they want.

If you look back at Tesla from day one, they have used each vehicle to finance the next. The Roadster financed the Model S, the Model S financed the Model X, and that financed the Model 3 and then the Y, and the enormous sales of the Model 3 and Model Y have financed the Cybertruck, which in turn will finance the low cost vehicle.

AFAIK, the Model 3 and Model Y didn't have limited editions. The new roadster does though. My point? While a 1,000 would be a limited edition for a car that sales 100,000 units, it's might small for one that is expected to have a yearly production of at least 250,000 units.

"Limited Edition" = Limited to as many suckers are willing to pay an extra 20K and give up any hope of receiving an additional $7,500 subsidy.
We Canadians get 0 incentive so don't complain. We'd still buy it, because like Elon said, it's cool
