Tailgate not flush

Anyone have any luck adjusting the CT tailgate to make it flush? I had tail gate replaced by SC due to it maki noise. Replacement piece all solid but one side is not. Just got it PPF so dont want to take it to SC they might make it worst.

I had a similar situation. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown to me, Tesla did not provide a means of adjusting the tailgate strikers. My tailgate was out quite a bit so I removed the strikers and had horizontal slots milled into them which allows the strikers to be moved forward. Worked great. Tailgate now flush.

After many SC visits I have come to the conclusion that less is more. If there is nothing mechanically and seriously wrong, I’m no longer mentioning it. I have an uneven Frunk alignment-made worse when asking original Frunk mis-alignment be fixed. I have a wind vibration on driver door- they have seen it 3 times for this and never once attempted to fix it. My tailgate never flushed but it was noisy as hell and was replaced- taking with it my tailgate protector which I’ve asked 3 times and was told 3 times it would be refunded. Nope. The new one is not flushed but …m good with it.

SC guys are very VERY variable. My Franklin TN store is amazing- but still the work is variable.

Since day 1, the driver's door sticks out slightly, like 2mm, but it closes correctly and doesn't leak. I've left it alone.

Same here - but on a previous post I described what I did in response to backing into a tree.
The Tailgate strikers are cheap and easily removable. You can work them with your tool of choice (Drill, dremel, etc).

Yes, I had access to a milling machine. However, a Dremel with a metal burr bit would do the job as well. I didn’t to remove much material about 1/4”. As a last resort you can simply file the slots. This would take a bit more time but is easily done.

Used a dremel bit grinded the metal striker and made the hole horizontal longer. Reinstalled 95% better. Couldve gone a little more but the bit snapped. Lol anyway im satisfied.

My tailgate doesn't close flush either and is part of my service visit next. I'll let you guys know if they are able to do anything about it.
