SIGN THE PETITION https://chng.it/74JWJbTxJz

Tesla is cancelling Foundation Series Cybertruck orders, and forcing people who ordered an FS Cybertruck to take delivery or lose their $1,000 deposit.

In November 2023, Tesla starting taking $1,000 deposits for a Foundation Series Cybertruck.
There are plenty of people that put a $1,000 deposit thinking they would get a non-FS Cybertruck.

Our petition is for TESLA to:

#1 Allow those people, who put a $1,000 deposit, to get put in the line to get a non-FS Cybertruck.
#2 OR convert to another Tesla Model delivery
#3 OR convert to Tesla Cash.

I'm confused. When I ordered it was made quite clear that the $1000 was a vehicle lock in purchase and initiated the delivery, not a "deposit" or "reservation". If it were refundable, how would they know who is serious about taking delivery ASAP and who isn't?

Are this many people that naive?

There are many documented cases of Tesla allowing people to switch from FS to non-FS after the $1k deposit. This is a choice of Tesla whether or not to provide good will to its customers. Yes Tesla is within its rights to keep the $1k and cancel the orders... but is that the right thing to do? I already have my CT, but its clear to me what the right thing to do here is.

I will sign the petition.

People that put a $1,000 deposit down that was clearly for the Foundation Series and labeled non-refundable should not get a refund. People need to learn to take a second to read why they are paying $1,000. It was all very visible and clearly presented.

I think its quite simple, give those that reserved back 4 years ago or prior to the announcement of the FS series as they thought they were reserving a Cybertruck (non FS), not aware there would initially be an FS series when reserving (too many people confuse reservation with ordering), an option to move their reservation to Cybertruck non FS if done before the end of 2024.
For all those that reserved after the FS announcement, including those receiving an invite to “ORDER” not reserve, an FS series and clearly stating in the agreement that the $1000 deposit is non-refundable, should adhere to that agreement as accepted.

If I remember correctly, the "DUE NOW : $1000" is literally on the configuration page. There's no way someone could think they were ordering anything but the configuration displayed. Changed your mind? Sure. But misled in any way, shape, or form? Nope.

Pull up Domino's website and order a supreme pizza. Then when the delivery guy shows up with the pizza already made, tell him you actually wanted just pepperoni. Or tell him that you just made a bologna sandwich instead. See if they'll refund your card.

People should also not confuse this thread about order agreements, with reservation agreements which are two entirely different things. So, the terms and situations of those two different things should not be mixed up. An order or purchase agreement is after one configures and has thus committed to Tesla, that they should start building a specific configuration and trim of vehicle.

People having literacy, accountability, and genuine responsibility of what they sign for are legal requirements, regardless of what people may want or change their mind about later. One should read carefully and if they don't like the terms of a purchase or order agreement, they shouldn't sign that they agree to it. Once you've signed, you've accepted those terms. If it says a down payment or deposit is non-refundable, that's exactly what it means.

Nah. You clearly knew it was for a foundation series and it was non-refundable. Someone who doesn’t know how to read probably shouldn’t be driving a 100k truck. Y’all petitioners should get Prius’s.

This ? it's basically what this petition suggests. It's silly. Any reasonable business needs a line where what you request vs when you pay for it is drawn. Before they pay for shipping, logistics, CONFIRMED production count, etc. there must be some hard money involved to protect the supply chain.

they signed a contract for an FS at the agreed price. After that point, it was to late to change their mind. People need to be an adult and accept responsibility. It is like a child saying they want a tuna sandwich and then saying the want bologna and having a tempter tantrum if they don't get it.

EDIT-AND, tesla is not canceling orders, as the topic suggests.
