I think I'll skip disconnecting the MV power - do you have any thoughts on this?
*should* be fine since you have the roof power port off anyway

So, taking the cover off, unscrewing a bolt, and removing the B-pillar appliqué, thus exposing the male/female connector. Connect that and reassemble the appliqué.
Yep!

Looking forward to hearing how it goes. Just got mine installed yesterday and now need to hook it up.
I didn't want to break anything even a small clip. If I did, my personality will bug the shit out of me. I ordered some plastic prying tools.

I watched this video after reading the manual and it makes it clear what I need to do.

I got mine installed last Friday. They did the recall on the cant rails and also gave me my wheel covers. This was essentially completed on the one year anniversary of owning the truck.

Work was supposed to take two days, then at 5:15 PM on Friday I get the message to drop of my loaner and pick up the truck. There was no one there for me to talk to since they closed at 5:00 PM.

I haven't plugged my light in. It looks well attached and even. Since it's not legal to use anywhere, I might just keep it unplugged and enjoy the added look of the accessory. I doubt I'd ever turn it on anyway and I assume this makes it so I can't be ticketed.

Unrelated, but the one cant rail is popped up about 1/3 of an inch where it ends near the bed side. Next time I go back I am going to see if they can glue that down or something, the other side looks much better.

We got more misinformation here, Someone said that all service centers now had the off-road lights in inventory, and all you had to do was make an appointment to get it installed. You know, provided that you have the off-road light as part of the deal. well not! its not true THAT STILL DOESN'T WORK! YOU NEED TO WAIT FOR THE EMAIL. I've been waiting about 9 months now!

My SC finally took me in for an appointment; I had tried three times before thru the app. Make your appointment about two to three weeks in advance to ensure they order you one. I believe things are starting to move faster. I received no email or text btw. I am scheduled for the 29th Got my CTB on the 22nd of Aug/24.

I didn't "NEED" the light bar, but I was notified twice (one false alarm) and one for real. I think all the accessories that come with the foundation series are now complete.

I want more updates - the more then "funner" it is. I am loving the FSD and how it is improving all the time and it's better than my judgment at times. I wish for a mini-CT so my wife can drive one.

I finally got an email from Tesla saying my lightbar was ready. I added a few other warranty things to my service request since I was bringing the truck in anyway. Well this is aggravating: at the end of the day, after sc messaged and said the vehicle was ready to pick up, I asked did you leave the instructions for finally connections of the lightbar in the truck? And they responded: "The lightbar was not installed today as we do not have the primer needed for the installation. We will create a follow up service visit for you for the lightbar". WTH, Tesla? No one told me they couldn't do it yesterday, even though I was in person talking with the person at the desk. Why did they accept that date for the appointment, knowing they couldn't complete the work? Now the app is prompting me to make another appointment date, but how can I, if I don't know if they have the primer in yet? I heard crickets from the service team when I messaged them complaining about this. They never have loaners anymore so I have to ask my husband to drive also because I'm not sitting and waiting all day. Is this lightbar even worth it? I guess I'm stuck with it since I paid for it (Foundation Beast) but probably will rarely use it. Anybody notice any range decrease after lightbar installation?

I am surprised the adhesive/primer does not come in the box with the lightbar. It seems like a lame excuse. I would not worry about parasite drag caused by the lightbar.

Lightbar box is only the lightbar without hazmat. Chemicals are called out in the procedure and can come in larger quantities than one bar requires and two are also used for windshield install.
One of the primers seems to be out of stock in the US...

If that is the case, fine, but Tesla SC needs to communicate better! Sending me an email saying it's ready then okaying a service appointment for that very thing and then not installing... We had much better service from our local service center in the past, when Tesla was much smaller. Growing pains I suppose. Then the app said I had 24 hours to submit a response/survey to the service received but in the morning, the option was gone (less than 24 hours later...).

it's a bit frustrating.
It's included so I got it installed. I got the wheel caps and I don't havce a need for it since they instsalled the wheel covers.
No primer talk for me.

Yeah, their inventory tracker only cares about the main part, not the rest of the required tools. Plus lightbar process has changed and one of the primers only has a 24 lifetime once opened.
