8000 FSD+ 2500 shop credit+2500 tire upgrade+1000 premium data+1000 other accessories = 15000 value. So the skipping the line cost is 5000. Well worth it if you are high reservation holder.
agreed that $5000 effective markup isn’t outrageous.

The problem is for those that will likely/possibly qualify for tax credit, might possibly get fsd for $7k as was (kind of) promised, plus extra sales tax/registration cost on FS, the actual mark up is more like $15k, which is quite outrageous.

For those that prefer the base tires for efficiency and don’t need the included accessories, the deal gets even worse. Hence all the waiting.

There are too many " likely, possibly, prefer", yes, if all is true and just want a bare bone CT and don't mind wait for another 2 years for high reservation holder, they can wait.

Like i said before, the FS basically just a way to let people using the money to skip the long line, later the reservation, more value for taking the FS. The time has the perimim as well. I predicted Tesla would go through the whole list for the FS invite in February, which not many people believed me then. i said it is not because Tesla is greedy ( those 20k per vehicle might seem a lot for individuals but is small potato for the company like Tesla) it is more fair for everyone.

That's assuming the CT will qualify for the tax credit. That's not known, yet. It appears Tesla doesn't plan on having a tax credit eligible CT this year, currently, as they haven't submitted it to the IRS as being qualified, but that can change quickly.

What if the tax credit goes away in some grand deal? Yikes. Many a hypothesis would be absent some #'s for Cybertruck pricing.

Free markets could actually be free if those oil folks had the same field to play on that wasn't so tilted.

Lots of people stretching to hit $80k and $100k is a lot less palatable. It's a 25% increase in cost, and an even bigger increase in payments.

For example if you had $20k down, you'd finance $80k versus $60k, a 33% increase in payments. If it does qualify for the incentive, that makes it an even bigger gap.

Totally agree about the value of the FS, but if you can't afford $100k, it doesn't matter.

Yeah, everyone's situation is different, so there is no right or wrong. Just which one is more fit for that individual's best interest.

Tesla marketing BS at its finest. The wording “we expect” is very subjective.

Tesla is simply trying to extend FS production as long as possible for the extra $20k margin. They will squeeze out every FS sale until the well runs dry.

@Cybertruck2024 Why so much obsession with "dealership service"?! The best service is "no service required"! so I can do something better with my time or do nothing at all vs. being forced to go to dealership and must experience "great service" while I have to wait for something being done to my car so I can use it while paying huge bucks for that "privilege". I dont know what Ford dealership service prices are, but for Porshe you are paying $400 for oil change, and yes, service advisors are checking on you with updates every 30 minutes and coffee/snacks are great but it costs me 2 hours of time and $400+ for every regular visit!
with Tesla I have no reason to go to dealership since I got my M3 and I appreciate is very very much that I dont have to waste my time for "scheduled maintenance" and oil change and other crap you have to do to keep your cur running.
you could also refuse to shop Amazon and go exclusively to Sacks 5th Ave for "service" - same argument.

you are lucky bastard, you already have your CT. :) you want service - go to GM dealership and trade-in your CT for Hummer EV and enjoy GM service! ?
My M3P went in for scheduled brake lubing maintenance at 20k miles. I found out I needed my brakes replaced. Was more expensive than brakes on other cars, was difficult to schedule (no evenings and weekends), and they had no loaners. My other brakes on other makes lasted longer, and service was better when they eventually went... all without the additional required scheduled maintenance of brake lubing.

After this experience, that was all the proof I needed that a good dealer is worth it's weight in gold. Something goes wrong with a Tesla, might as well give up on happiness for a few weeks.
