Hey everyone,

I’m facing a bit of a dilemma and could use some advice from the community.

I recently received a VIN for my new Cyberbeast order, but when I tried to trade in my current Cybertruck (delivered in March 2024), Tesla informed me that they wouldn't accept it as a trade-in. This leaves me in a tough spot, as I don't plan on owning two Cybertrucks and need to figure out how to proceed.

To make matters worse, I’ve tried reaching out to Tesla multiple times through their messaging system for guidance, but I haven’t received any response regarding this specific issue. Has anyone else encountered this or found a way around it?

Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know how to obtain the necessary documentation to sell the Cybertruck privately?

I would appreciate any guidance or advice from those who've dealt with something similar.

Thanks in advance for your help!

OOF. That's a tough one. I suppose the only recourse at this point would be to sell to a third party.

Thanks for the suggestion.

My concern with selling to a third party is how to do so without violating the no-resale clause in my contract. I’m worried about the potential legal implications or being liable for any action from Tesla if I go that route.

Has anyone successfully navigated this situation while staying compliant with Tesla's terms? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think Tesla will pursue this anymore for obvious reasons.

It might be a bit of a grey area, but it seems to me like you already offered to let Tesla buy it back and they refused. So you are free to sell to a third party.

Also, the fact that you offered to trade it in indicates you did not purchase the vehicle in bad faith (with the intention of flipping it), so you are in the clear there too.

I wouldn't worry about it.

A month ago I was in the SC and asked them about trading in my AWD for a CB. They told me to talk to the sales person so I did. She didn't know and said they would call me back.
I'm still waiting for the call about it....

Same here, so i just took out a loan on the beast and im selling the awd myself. No place wants to give anything for an awd currently, online offers aren't happening they say I need to take it in. I may have mine sold today. (trading for some seadoos and cash).

WOW, is that bad the re-sale market on these cars? They destroyed it by making too many too fast!
