Please…this Highlander looks like a cybersienna.
As if someone took a frunk panel from our truck and stuck it under the light of a lucid.
And you know what else? Like pretty much everything else on the market it doesn’t drive itself.

Yeah, I have not paid attention to Toyota much, its like all their new vehicles now have the CT front panel.
Likewise. There are so many vehicles I’d consider were it not for FSD but like you said, I have blinders on.
The ID buzz has some charm to it, the Cadillac IQ looks like an awesome large SUV, the R1s is like an EV version of a 4 runner, the ev9 has some nice utility at a good price but I want none of them.
FSD is such a game changer for me.
I really hope they don’t apply the same boneheaded logic they did to the supercharger network and license FSD to other manufacturers because it would be a complete death blow to Tesla car sales.
They keep saying they don’t care but I bet you investors would.

And those ugly USS on the panel! Looking back, I don't miss the warnings you would get with them in a heavy rain or bugs plastered over them.

Nothing is stopping Tesla from making a bigger true 3 row SVU but I am sure new cars or a second version of the CT (SUV type) are a secondary concern for them if at all.

Just do not think they really care, if they wanted to be a true full car/truck company they would be making something like my Hybrid Maverick but with the Tesla flair and EV of course. That would fill a true demand. FYI Hybrid Maverick sales were up over 13% in Jan 26 over Jan 25. So please do not say there is NO demand for a small compact Pickup.

Elon/Tesla is focused on the robot and cabs.

Other companies, and people that make renders, don't understand the incredible design put into the CybterTruck, it's not just straight panels, the sides curve in giving it "girth", where the the angles come together are very strategic and most importantly the "Triangle" top part is what makes it "IT". The SUV renders are garbage, replacing the triangle with a quadrilateral, breaks all the other design choices for the CT. That being said, other than the "mess" of the headlights, this Toyota SUV doesn't look to bad, but not anything resembling a CT.

I would have totally bought this in 2018 instead of the Model X... assuming it is much much... much... much cheaper.

An even larger 8 seat CyberSUV like this is what Tesla SHOULD be making ... albeit with carefree stainless body panels. I hope Tesla starts making such a modified Cybertruck ... along with a smaller boxy SUV 'Jeep' along the lines of the new Rivian R2. AMERICANS LIKE BOXY SUVs. Some species of easily replaceable non-metallic composite body panels like the new SLATE truck would be a great idea too. Because of this pending competition from Rivian and Toyota ... MIGHT some new hint of new Teslas other than the Roadster be given on April 1st? I hope so. If that new Toyota EV Highlander had the same self-driving tech as a Tesla (it does not) ... I would be a likely customer.

Looks like sensors on the front bumper. Is Tesla bringing them back from the dead?

Nah, that's the TOYOTA, not Tesla! They have to have them because their camera and software system is nowhere NEAR as good as Tesla's systems are...

TOYota doesn't want to make BEVs... That's why they only have had ONE model for the past 4 years now (2023 came out in 2022)...

They are 'all in' on HYBRIDS... Because the PROFITS on H's is WAY higher than a BEV... In fact, they are higher than GAS cars as well!! AND the dealers still make a lot of money on maintenance as well (which the dealers love!) so they push the hybrids as well...

It's really easy... they just tell people that they can go 400, 500, 600 miles without stopping (to refuel the CAR that is) - they just forget to mention your BLADDER and stomach won't last 500 miles... That's about 7 hours of driving at 70mph... Sorry, but I am NOT going to pee in a bottle and eat sandwiches for 7 hours... I will be stopping about every 3-4 hours instead and I can charge up (and eat and pee and stretch my old legs out) while I do 'other' stuff...

This highlander is all electric with a 320 range they say. But with no FSD, it is not an option for me.

I agree! No FSD, not for me!!

But Toyota promised they would have 5 "BEV" models out this year and it's only 3 and one is the old 'Bz' model they have had...

Plus, go to the dealer and listen/watch them try to 'convince' you that "You don't want an EV, you want a hybrid"... They have all the talking points, but leave out every REAL reason to buy a Tesla... It's actually funny in a way...

When I visited a dealer, YEARS ago, they actually said "You should get a hybrid for now and then trade it in for a new EV in a few years when TOYOTA comes out with their SOLID STATE battery! (this was 3 years ago when I bought my model Y) They actually did NOT want to sell me a BZ4!! Even said, well, we don't have any on the lot, we would have to order one... But we have these hybrids IN STOCK... Yeah, each with a $3000-$5000 'dealer markup' (added profit by the dealer, just because) and other overpriced add ons I didn't want anyway...
