Mine is not the same but similar. Since SS have added extra slat to fix the water leakage issue, my tonneau cover reopens once fully closed. It only push reopens 1 foot from the tailgate.

Sounds like it needs to be recalibrated (which can be done in, I think, the service menu).

What he said.

Recalibrate. It's easy enough to do yourself.

Unfortunately, it’s not always that simple, I have the same issue. Tonneau reopens 1 ft from tailgate after closing fully. I’ve recalibrated it like 10 times. It happens like 30% of the time. I’ve had it ā€˜fixed’ once by service. But it came back.

I’ll have to add that to the service request list next time I go. Got tired or recalibrating, so I just soft press the close button when it happens to let it close all the way and it then stays there. The hard press on the button for auto close is the one that retracts it back.

I am banking on by adding another slat on tonneau may have cause calibration issue. I will run the cal. this evening and report back to see if this happen again. I know it happens right after I picked up the truck from SS.

Possibly. I did see the problem happen more often after they added the missing slat on mine.

Same here (FS AWD 05/2024). Tesla replaced my tonneau very early on (I had no issues other than water intrusion) and they later added the extra slat to the replacement.

That's when this issue started for me. I've had it in, but they couldn't duplicate the problem. It's now happening all the time (even after recalibration). Once my PCS gives out (haha!!) I'll add the tonneau to the service ticket.
