Took Delivery 4/25/24 wiper motor went out 40 miles later on way home in pouring rain!

The CT wiper motor uses about 120 watts, a lot by automotive standards. An average vehicle wiper motor rarely tops 50 watts.

Yes. Two failed motors. The original and the first replacement.

How long did the motor replacement take? They are quoting me that it's a 6 hour job.

Last appointment was 2 hours including the “rivet repair” for the accelerator pedal. The first time took a bit longer as they only had one CT certified tech and I had to wait a bit longer before he got to my CT.

Actually it's 10 minutes for just the motor, but you must include removing the wiper arm, trim, and frunk tub. (I'm honestly not sure if the listed FRT times are for removal and install together, or for each.)

I'm astonished that you got a bad motor AND a bad replacement. If it happens a third time, then it's almost certainly not the motor, but now you've got a mystery to solve.

Yeah, they made it sound like it was going to take awhile just to get to the motor.

Update !! repair has been made going back to pickup truck tomorrow , really glad Tesla was able to make the repair in 2 business days. Hopefully this wiper motor lasts ?

I put a 9H ceramic coating on my windshield before a long trip and the rain mostly sheeted over the roof especially with a hard acceleration. I felt like the wipers were almost unnecessary but then I ended up dealing with snow so I had to use them.

Just picked mine up yesterday, and ran into the same issue unfortunately. Wiper not working at all. Really hope that they can eventually do the repair for this with mobile service, as I'm 3 hour away from my closest SC.

I used Rain-X but agree that hydrophobic coatings make the BAW more effective. I thought about coating the roof as well, but it seems pointless.
