those xwitter guys are all incorrect regarding “shutdown” in CT “production” line

meanwhile, they don’t know or don’t observe the distinction between there being two different “lines” for the CT at present - the high volume production line (continues to be incrementally built, no change there) and the low volume pilot line (where RC builds are completed to date)

not observing these distinctions means that when they hear incomplete “news” from within, they then take that incomplete info and map it over their already incomplete understanding of the goings-on

instead of a game of telephone, it’s a game of xwitter-phone
I was not aware that there are 2 CT manufacturing lines, only that you distinguish RC candidate builds from production builds (which there are none as per you).

although Joe has made a lot of statements that don’t pan out, and tends to believe certain individuals’ guesses, he does talk to people on site and that is more than the vast majority of us. What I said does, at least to me, make sense, and it also makes sense in the context of the original post about a white dash.

White will glare onto the windscreen.

OTOH, darker colors absorb heat.

Can I get “striped”?
The differential colours from Zebras is to promote local air flow and with it the convection of heat off the skin, to cool the animals in a hot African sun. :geek:🦓

Someone DM’d @greggertruck this shot of one of the trucks on this transport, with a ‘706’ on windshield

I believe there was an inserted gap in numbering between end of 600 and begin of 700

consistent with (not dispositive of) some step-change shift between the 600-series RCs and now these 700-series RCs, with that several-day slowdown between

I wouldn’t have thought much of it, had there been white trim interiors sprinkled among the first ~100. I wouldn’t have thought much of it had there been a slowdown and then similar colored trims come back online. I wouldn’t have thought much of it if nothing else changed and the VINs rolled from 600 to 700.

but getting to ~100 identical dark interior units, having a slowdown for a few days, then the next ones seen have for the first time white trim interiors and a VIN roll from 600 to 700, all - to me - points to the first 600 series all being dual motors with dark interiors, and they’ve just built the first few tri-motors all with white trim

there shouldn’t be as much reason to build another 100 tri-motor RCs. A lot of validation can occur on duals, with only certain validations needing for tri-specific builds.

see above, in fine, but a few less obvious inferences omitted
I don't have a problem with that logic.

But I don't quite get how you can say they are trimotor, if no one (or at least not me) has ever seen a confirmed trimotor setup or CT.

Are there photos I've missed?

I've been busy looking after my dad who just had a HA. 😔

I’m so sorry to hear this, and hope all is headed in the right direction, Sam.
Yeah he is, just got him home today, had a stent put in and is on meds, doing much better now. Luckily it was just a mild one. But was still a shot accross the bow. Not fun, but part of life at 84 I suppose.

Also sorry to hear. Hopefully this shot across the bow helps motivate any change needed for a long and happy life.

Thanks guys.

None of our family drink or smoke, but old age and an addiction to hard work takes its toll sometimes. He was out chopping trees with a chainsaw the day before. He can run on shear will power sometimes. A real life energiser bunny, but 84 laps of the sun is a long way to run... :)

I know Tesla wants to keeep production costs down, but I’d love a tri-motor with the driver display. Obviously we don’t notice any here and haven’t seen any since that Alpha about a year ago. I know it’s a pipe dream, but a brotha can dream, can’t he?!

They’ve cut the price so much on the Model S, I’m debating on purchasing that instead. However, I really want pickup.
Wife and I test drove a Model S Plaid last Saturday (See test drive Model S Plaid) It was awesome and took all of the self-control I could muster NOT to drive it home.
I feel I have waited this long, and I can wait another few weeks until it comes out and I get to see real pictures and read real reviews.... maybe even score a ride. Wish I could justify owning both!

JBee,

Your dad will be in our thoughts and prayers. Glad to hear all the good news rolling the bad news.

This thread from today shows 4 cybertrucks departing from GFTX - but an observation about this photo seemed to justify a new thread (mods feel free to collapse of course)

note anything new with two of these CTs?

The front and rear units are the first release candidates we’ve seen with white trim/dash:

DA981340-87E4-43F0-AE1F-2F2E5ABF78AE.jpeg

all other of the RC units seen to date have had black/grey trim throughout, and I’m *pretty* confident all of those RCs are dual motor variants.

For the last week+ there’s been a slow-down in the GFTX lot and transport sitings, indicating some shift on the validation line.

Today, after that dry spell, this transport is now seen with two units having white trim interiors.

I’m *pretty* confident the dry spell was some stutter in the validation line’s transition to the first tri-motor builds, with at least two of the tri-motor builds getting out today - surely heading to Fremont etc for validation of various sorts.

FYI, the last times we’ve seen builds with white interior were beta prototype seen at investor day, cyber roundup, lithium refinery, etc

How many RC's will Tesla release before going to full production ramp up?

Truly, wholeheartedly, I hope you are right. I don't want to wait another 18 months for the 500-mile version.

Anyone concerned about alleged white dash within CT environment? Glare city…? Any thoughts or experience?
