Last night my truck was locked, unplugged, and parked outside. It didn’t sleep the entire night. I decided to check the WiFi, and the signal was very weak. I turned it off from inside the truck and it went to sleep right away. It may have been trying to upload data or something, but try it out if you’re having a problem. It had 7% phantom drain during this period.

Can you access that screen you are looking at from your phone? How?
This is the Tessie app. The Tesla app would just say “asleep for x minutes” instead of parked.

True.

A reliable wifi signal where you park will save you a small amount on electricity. Wifi repeaters are cheap these days. Make sure your parking spot has reasonably good signal strength.

Turning off WiFi is treating a symptom, not the cause.

Try changing your Tesla account password.

Sorry if you mentioned already, but is Sentry disabled?
Yes it’s disabled. The truck slept for 12 hours last night, but woke up again this morning without any interaction.

Hmmm. Wonder if you try to kill the tsla app on your phone or anyone else at your home that may have access to CT. Just a thought that the phone key connecting and reconnecting may be awakening vehicle (I notice the behavior on my side as well).

I assumed it might be trying to upload FSD data or something on a weak signal and taking hours.

Roger that.

An awful lot of these won't-sleep issues ultimately end up being a third-party app which the user thought was turned off, but wasn't. Ergo the suggestion for a password change.

That's why I recommend avoiding third party apps. Not everyone will experience issues or lower efficiency, but it's not worth the risk.

Many of the third party apps if they can afford it will be moving to the Tesla telemetry. Designed by tesla for fleet use to give the data feed more efficiently than pinging the car the way it is done now. Right now the issue in new product is the cost to users, and at what point is the data to expensive for the everyday user.
