Is the advertised price we put a deposit on the true price of the vehicle, or “price after estimated savings”?
Example: Model Y:
Price after Est. Savings$45,690
Purchase Price$49,990
Excluding taxes and fees...

Notice the purchase price is thousands higher.

I may be wrong, but I thought Elon said it was purchase price during the unveiling.

If I’m not mistaken price after savings is with the tax credit and other such things taken into account. I’m guessing most people won’t get the tax rebate so it will be purchase price.

Does anyone remember how it worked for the Y and 3? That's probably your best indication.

I am pretty sure it is "After potential savings "
Every Tesla car is listed on a website like this.
In "these savings" Tesla likes to put "Est. 6-year gas savings"
Take a look at Model 3 on a website:

How could anyone put Gasoline savings ??? Why is there 6 years? Why not 3, 2, or 8-10? Just because Tesla wanna show attractive numners?
Why they do not compare car price ?
it is same as Toyota put on a website "Price Savings" for example:
TESLA costs $37 990, Corolla costs $19 600. INSTANT SAVING $18 390!!!

ICE car is cheaper as a default, I do not care about $4300 "gas savings" if the car itself gives me $18390 instant savings just not to buy a tesla

Because 6 years the the usual term for a car loan. I did a cost analysis compared to my f350 diesel truck just using a model X specs. Assuming I just swapped them out and the maintenance costs stayed about even (which they won't, but that's hard to predict) I'd save about $21,000 based on driving 100 miles a day, but that's over 6 years.

It's a long game argument, but it's savings compared to if you'd bought a normal ICE vehicle at a comparable price. Considering decent work trucks start around the same price, it's a fair thing to take into consideration on purchase since gas and oil changes add up in a huge way.

It's a framing that makes the price of the vehicle much more palatable for a guy like me who and to operate a business out of the back of a Cybertruck.

You got a great point. Therefore I ordered Cybertruck 3 motor. (Just because if we compare same options on any other truck - Cybertruck comes out cheaper)
But I did not buy Model 3/Y for my wife just because Prius is much cheaper in any way comparison. I know how to count money and do not do any extra movements without analyzing from every side.

PS. If I take a car loan -it is no more than 36 month. for 72 month it is robbery!
PSS. Still did not get how you linked up Loan term with gas savings. Do you sell your car immediately after your loan is payed off? Or you still keep it for a while?

I sincerely hope that Elon would hold true to that statement and someone from Tesla could confirm it.
it will surely make a difference for thousands of us who are saving up and stretching to buy this truck.

Speaking of potential savings...

My plan was to buy the CT in about 2 years. Trade in our current SUV. But here’s another scenario I’ve been toying with.

I could trade in the SUV and buy a Model Y now. Then trade the Y in when my CT is ready. Yes, the Y will depreciate, but so will my current car. And I’m eligible for a $5k rebate on the Y in my state, which helps mitigate some of the additional depreciation. Every time I run the numbers it come out even.

Oh, and that’s without adding in 2 years worth of gas savings (about $2k more).

The only big downside I see is that the Y is a little small for my family.

I’m pretty sure it’s not after savings.

From the example above for the model 3, the after savings price is $31,690 and Tesla never priced the Model 3 that low.
Just re watched Model 3 unveil, you are right. The lowest price was announced is $35000!
GREAT NEWS!!!!
It should be actual purchasing price!
Okay, let see how much would I have to take out from pocket for my 3 motor:
$69,900 Cybertruck
$7,000 FSD
$1,200 Destination & Doc fee (this number is taken from website, checked on Model 3 and X)
$7,810 (Est. tax for CA)
so total $85,910
Plus for ATV :)
90k is what is the real price is going to be with no Loan fee
