I mean on the one hand, a complete HV battery failure making you unable to charge should absolutely get you to the top of the service list. On the other, do you think they just have HV batteries laying around in case there is a failure? No, it has to be shipped on a truck from the factory. And if you take it without a planned appointment, how could they have known in advance they needed to have a loaner available? They can't predict the future. Just like a dealership wouldn't have, for example, a jeep wrangler manual transmission laying around, and would have to order one from the factory when it fails (mine has had this happen twice). And they certainly didn't provide me a free loaner even with a scheduled appointment at the jeep dealer. Not sure where you are buying cars that this would be different.

While I agree that Tesla needs to get him a loaner ASAP (does not need to be a CT or even a Telsa.. most places have some trade in's lying around).... to say that other manufacturers don't do this is LAUGHABLE. The MFG's don't even really care... its the local dealership that's going to help or not help you as the case may be. I have certainly been in the boat of having a new silverado need a replaced engine (2 months in) and needing to wait 4 months for it to be replaced. I was 3 weeks w/o a vehicle (had to rent). Because it took so long, they did end up reimbursing me for the time I had to rent, but it was a huge pain in the ass and I wasted WAY too much time getting it all figured out. Super annoying. So I definitely feel OP's pain. I would be in a bit of a rage too. But this is not a unique to Tesla experience.
