This video is the exact thing the 2nd tech did, I just want to state for the record I new what I was getting as an early adopter and am not mad about any of this... I am also here to document it just in case someone else has the issue, you know birds of a feather, and eventually I will have a solution which I will post for anyone in the future to see. I have a very early VIN, 1011 so that might also be a factor.
It might be possible to remove the top cover of the tailgate and reach the release cable, but the manual says this will break the clips and the cover must be replaced.

I hear there’s a big gap at the bottom of the tailgate. How many wire hangars do you have? ?

Removed my top tailgate appliqué to coat it in truck liner (cause it scratches super easy) and none of the clips broke. From what I recall, there isn’t much room between the frame of the tailgate and seal on the tonneau.

Because a tiny number of machines fail an update? Honestly, that's not news. It just means something went wrong that shouldn't have or wasn't properly expected.

These sorts of things happen. Sometimes it's because a gamma ray flipped a bit somewhere that was important. It's really hard to eliminate those one in n-thousand, but they'll eventually get it down.

ECC memory addresses gamma ray bit flips

As the title says. Installed 2024.45.25.5 and the truck went unresponsive.

So just be aware of this when you press to update.

They are sending a truck to bring to my local service center.
phew...I already have that update and I drove 20% yesterday and today.

Unlikely, but it's happened!

More likely memory cleanup got interrupted.

There was a somewhat recent local French election where the cheap voting machine didn’t use ECC memory and a bit flip gave 32768 votes to one candidate…far too many given size of voter base.

That sucks. I just had an issue with mine where the phone key stopped working, even though it said it was on in the app. Hope they give you free supercharging or something lol

That is strange! I did downloaded and installed mine, took a little longer than normal. My truck works great! FSD is the best I have ever experience.

Mine actually worked as well for a whole day, until it went to sleep that night.
