I suspect Tesla was sitting on less than 5,000 Roadster preorders (you had to put down $50k to reserve it or the full $250k for the launch edition) versus more than 750,000+ Cybertruck preorders. Not hard to see why Tesla is pushing the Cybertruck.

The Roadster still may beat the CT to production. Let's see, if I double my existing orders and everyone else adds as many as I do to theirs, that ought to peak Elon's interest in getting them beyond the "hamster-in-wheel" stage. The secret is why they are so far behind. How many hamsters does it take to levitate a Roadster? Hamster power is innovation beyond horsepower, and much more compact; definitely no typical ICE machine!
