If this is true it shows some backward thinking individuals running the military. A drone carrying the correct munitions would disable a cyber truck easily. Blowing one up for a dog and pony show is bad for the environment and pocket book. They would already be on a procurement list if it was anything it hype.
You don't know for certain if things are going to work without testing it, which is why they test it end-to-end. They've found out many times that things that worked in parts didn't work in whole.

That's why militaries are expensive.

Not a good look in my opinion
This is true. From a disparaging angle, it's funny.

But they often use armored-up things as targets.

This just confirms that we are preparing to conduct military operations in Mexico. You know who just purchased cybertrucks for their police force?…Mexico.

That’s wild. Imagine spending years hyping up the Cybertruck for its toughness, and now the Air Force wants to use it for live-fire missile testing. Makes sense though, with that stainless steel exoskeleton and 48V system. I even saw CNN covering the story. If enemies really start rolling in these things, training with the real deal is smart.
