It is if you don't care how it feels when you drive it. A lot of truck owners say, "It's a truck, it's supposed to be slow and pnderous and not very nimble or maneuverable!"For me it is just another TRUCK!!
How does that rate on your scale of fan boys making up excuses?
It seems to me that once you come to terms with the fact that Tesla has not yet delivered a 500-mile version, that most of the things people complain about are either false or so minor as to be laughable. Fingerprints, tonneau cover seeps, looks, frunk size, etc.
People should be talking about the qualities specific to Cybertruck that bring big value to the vehicle, the massive 35" OEM tires that can roll over bumps and obstacles more confidently, the massive 17" of ground clearance in extract mode, the flexibility of a huge range of ride heights, the utility, safety and comfort of automatic suspension damping adjustments, the highly nimble steer by wire and four-wheel steering system, the world-class digital interface and software, the toughened glass, the motorized tonneau cover you can walk on, the super comfortable ventilated seats, the hospital grade HEPA filtration for the cabin, the frunk that is so low and easy to load it doubles as a loveseat, etc, etc. etc. All these things bring incredible value to the Cybertruck.
It seems from a rational perspective, no other truck even comes close, so the Cybertruck detractors have to claw at whatever little quibbles they can magnify. Like the fully expected seeps of water into the truck bed under the right conditions. That's normal for trucks. Or claims that the headlights are somehow inadequate. Or fingerprints, whatever they can come up with. Don't get me wrong, the fingerprints are real, I'm just having difficulty imagining that many people care about fingerprints on their truck. Really? Next thing you know they will be complaining about dust and mud building up in the wheel wells as if this is something new or a big problem.
I feel like people have lost the ability to weigh the pluses and minuses in a rational manner when they say the F-150 Lightning is theequivalent of the Cybertruck. To me there is a chasm between the functionality, toughness and driveability of the Lightning and the Cybertruck. Those who don't see it that way should buy the truck they find most compelling. To me the choice is a no-brainer.
