Yeah but how many of those were motorized and retractable?

I’m no engineer but I think that having both those things are a really hard ask.

Seems to me that you could have either waterproof or motorized retractable?

Any engineers wanna chime in here?
That's what bins with lids are for.

Might not agree with the delivery tone, but the reversals are a little frustrating.
I think a lot of the consolations are ok, if it was not for the price hike (beyond inflation) and the long wait.

Having so many significant elements miss the mark and the price is kind of tough
While ignoring the added new features?

Yeah because calling people derogatory terms will get you sympathy. Buy it if you like it, or go.
There's another. What exactly bothers you that someone has an issue with a product. Why does it make any difference to you if i think the cover leaking water is a problem?

The wisest comment has been packing things in boxes or bags

As a second line of defence, one could carry a light plastic sheet to throw over things.

No they stated at home power share hardware is included, installation is not. If you do not live in an area with a certified installer or say you want to install yourself they will not give you the parts that was a lie. They said it was included. If the parts are not included then it's not included. And it is important to lot of people. Me being one of them.
I was being sarcastic. That is the typical response here if you ask a question like you just explained. You are right that it's important. It's more important to me than a years worth of super charging as i don't have time to sit at chargers to save a couple of $. But i wont be a happy chap if they attempt to tell me that the extra $20k i paid wont included any of what was included then try to switch me out to something i wont ever use.

Here we go with the mental gymnastics .."What other retractable bed covers are waterproof"
so...do you have a waterproof tonneau cover on your Ford F150? OEM or aftermarket?

A quick Google search plus my experience with a few trucks says....no. Not sure why the Rivian R1T, Ford F150L, or Tesla Cybertruck would be any different.

Anyone...please point me to a waterproof (or dustproof, ha!) tonneau cover. TIA.

Disappointing for sure!

A quality tonneau should be mostly waterproof.
Mostly? It either is or it isn’t, or am I missing something. Everyone here is bitching it is “mostly waterproof”, ie not

Would anyone object to a highly water resistant vault cover? Would anyone object to better range, faster charging etc.. as pointed out by likely buyers like me on this fORUM?

Tesla set expectations over 4 years. With an aspirational product like The CT some misses were inevitable. Some of those misses will be corrected in the near future Validating the confidence of acolytes.

The misses that cannot be fixed will have to be factored into each prospective buyers decision process just like any other vehicle. The tone of Hubris exuded by Tesla and fan boys becomes irritating when we try to have an objective discussion. Specifically Tesla devotees make too many excuses For the misses and purposeful miscommunications by Tesla as a marketing technique. For me it is just another TRUCK!!
I would also argue the hubris of the negative Nancies is just as bad…. Complaining about every single thing.. both sides can be nauseating though

Your response is no different than mine as we both address our individual use cases. It is “pretty much water proof” like you believe they should be. If you do require a watertight bed cover then obviously this truck is not for you. At least you found out now. I’m tired of hearing people complain about different parts of the truck like they’re obligated to buy it. The truck is the truck. We all have parts that work or don’t work and have to decide whether or not it’s a deal breaker. No manufacturer can design a truck that meets a million people’s individual needs. If it’s not what you want or doesn’t meet your needs then ok. A Rivian doesn’t meet my individual needs but I’m not gonna complain about them not doing this or that. I just won’t buy one.
Boom, exactly

So far no one has shown more than a few dribbles. You get that opening the cabin doors.

What's with the four pages of name-calling?

That dude is having a full negative troll meltdown.. strange behavior for an adult to be on a forum and be so negative and a name caller 🤷🏼

That's the problem with you guys. You don't see a single fault any issues that come out. it could have a 100mile range and take hours to charge and you guys would see it as a good thing as it just means you get more chance for breaks on trips. i cant wrap my head around the commitment you form to Tesla. They ain't your friends
What are you taking about.. read a thread, there is much discussion of the things they didn’t hit on.. ok I think I am at ignore for this bro
