Yeah, I agree they are better than nothing, but if the car is already hot and I get in without pre-cooling, the venting never cools down the seats, let alone my back. I’m considering submitting a service ticket and seeing what their response is…
I can't imagine how a seat cooler could ever really cool a seat if your already sitting in it? esp if it is just blowing the ambient air through the small holes that are blocked when seated?

It's my first car with "seat cooling" so my expectations were pretty low. If the air is blowing past a cooling grid it won't cool you much while seated.

Most ventilated seats suck air out of the seat. That removes the moisture from your back and the energy/heat in it, there by cooling you. If the seats are connected to the air conditioning they will blow air through the seat and because its cold it will also remove energy/heat.

The coldest seats I have ever felt were in a Ford Explorer, they were connected to the AC and were almost uncomfortably cold. Of the 5 cars I have had with ventilated seats, the CT are the weakest/least effective.

Like @Pops said, it allows your back and butt to breathe/ sweat versus just trapping your heat with insulating foam cushioning.

This is my first vehicle with ventilated seats, and this was my first summer without a sweaty back! Didn't realize they were anemic compared to others, but they seem to do the job even on 1-2 ice bacons, because fan annoys me on 3. But now I need to go sit in MX and compare...
True, they are not high-velocity or ice cold, but they don't have to be to keep the air moving through your clothes and keep your balls and back from getting sweaty. I loved having them last summer on the hottest days, particularly when I was doing sweaty activities between drives.

If you do submit a ticket, please report back on the outcome!

Anyone actually submit a service ticket on this? I’m seriously thinking about it, it seems like it’s getting worse in my 2025.

Model Y Juniper has extremely good cooling to the point that I sometimes have to turn it down a notch.

The cooling in my early (March 2024) Foundation CyberBeast by comparison is almost undetectable. Definitely can feel the difference between OFF and the MAX setting but again super weak in comparison to the Juniper.

I took mine in and they actually ripped out the front seats and replaced them but it actually did nothing to improve this feature. So unless they have updated the seats in the last 4-6 months, don’t expect any improvement.

We have a 2 month old Juniper and a 1 month old CT AWS, I can confirm your statement. Juniper is awesome CT is pretty much pointless unless you enjoy the sound of moving air. I recently tried the mentioned on here somewhere seat pads that allow airflow and they increased the flow by maybe 10%. They are hideous so not worth the 10% for me.
