By my reckoning, about 10 pecks to go from full-high to slammed.

Now we measure time in chicken pecks? Damn these chickens are getting a monopoly on all things scientific. I hope they don't have evil intent. I mean, they came from dinosaurs so what could go wrong.

I believe that the one is the lowest setting since the wheel is right up against the fender, but Elon said the travel would be +/- 4” and the minimum would be at -4” and the max would be 8” higher. The other pic doesn’t look like 8” higher. Also, sometime after the unveiling Elon said the suspension travel might be greater than 8” but he never said it might be less.

The difference in ground clearance is also hard to tell. We know that the minimum ground clearance is supposed to be 8”, and the maximum ground clearance is supposed to be 16”, but I cannot tell whether that ‘max’ height is 16” of ground clearance.

As a result I have to ask how you know this pic represents the highest setting.
For comparison, here is my 2023 Rivian at maximum height, next to my 2023 MY (notice the differencein the side view mirror height)
Tesla Cybertruck [Video + Pics] Cybertruck suspension at high setting height (loading onto trailer and public streets) 20230827_102939
, which gives me approximately 15 inches of ground clearance using all season tires. You will get a little more clearance when opt for the all terrain tires

I wonder how long it takes to go from full up to full down?
Both my 2022 Rivian R1T and the 2023 R1S go from kneel mode (lowest) to max height in less than 7 seconds. About the same as my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 4xe, though the Jeep only gives me around 11 inches with factory 21 inches all season tires vs 15 inches for the Rivian on 21 inch all season tires

If the tires are indeed 35" it appears clearly to me that there is a good 16" of ground clearance

If you can offroad in a civic you're gonna be a bad ass in the CT! :) Like most things, skill and experience go a long way vs. just nice equipment - granted I do prefer both!
Ayup, that's my thought.

On our way out, a guy in a truck flagged us to ask if there was a way, in, as he was using Google, and it was choosing this entirely unmaintained trail through a field, so I directed him to this, Corn Lake Road. I had to balance the tires on the middle and edge so we wouldn't suck the weeds and rocks from the raised center into the engine.

Like others I wonder if the newer Cybertruck will still have the 16 inches of ground clearance per the original specs. Considering Elon's interest in the Baja and the fact they highlighted 'approach and departure angles' in the original specs, I'm optimistic.

Maybe it's possible the approach and departure angles will be even steeper considering the newer CT has a shorter length? It will be interesting whenever they get around to an Updated Reveal and we can find out all the new specs.

They shut down the CT line recently to prepare for mass production.
not really, no

Im sure some of these trucks are being used for real-world testing, but all 600 of them?
there are not 600

Betas we’re 5XX

RCs are 6XX (and there is a small gap within)

Past RCs, there’s another stage before moving to salable production units (I expect they’ll be 8XX)

every truck you’ve seen to date is for validation

yeah i may have been wrong on this one :p if only about 200 trucks were made so far, then yeah. They'd probably need all of them for validation.

Haha!

No, it was an especially smokey morning in Southern Oregon. It had poured into our camp at Lassen Creek from the east and the speed and density it hit us, we couldn't know there wasn't a fire nearby! It was super-bad. Went from clear blue to like 300ppm grey-orange sky in less than an hour.

So we bailed to the highway (no radio or cell reception in the canyon) to find out it was just smoke from the fire in the Modoc forest (but a different mountain range than we were in) building up.

The air wasn't bad out in the Harney Basin after we climbed out from Lakeview, especially not after the rain.

So we didn't go to Burning Man, but we did go to a dry lake bed in the desert and got rained on!
