haha .. so glad to see that many of us (probably 90-95% ) who gets invite goes through exact same dilemma , same questions ,

1. 80 K vs 100 K - Then you create excel to convince yourself that you are close to 20ish K somehow this + that + that + this ... bla bla bla + 2 years delay (priceless) ...
2. early build teething issues of truck being so new.
3. your RN # vs others in queue.

hahaha ... from the day you hit submit order ... you will have sleepless nights ..
you will keep refreshing app to see if VIN is assigned ...

Once you get delivery and your truck is parked in your garage .. you will sleep like a BABY !!!!

i am gutting and rebuilding my kitchen in 4 days. [about a month long project and a nice upgrade]. thats a serious spend.

i am going to take my time and see if i really want to spend another 100k on CT or wait a bit longer for the non FS version.

looking at the overall numbers and strategy, IF they don't produce single motor anytime soon [or low volume like beast] and focus just on dual motor, it is unlikely it will be 2 years. i would say 6-9 months. 80k is still a big number.

but if they produce single motor and dual motor simultaneously, it would be much longer.

If you get White interior prepare for a very quick turnaround! I changed from grey to white and had a VIN within a few hours.

There was a 2 month difference in projected delivery between white and Grey when I ordered this week. I always want to tweak my cars so I figures it is changeable and ordered white.

Still no Vin on the white though, your story made me jealous.

I was wondering why people have been getting a VIN before me. I ordered the grey interior. I am not willing to switch to white though. Hopefully I will have a VIN within the next month or two.

I have not seen any concrete information on the topic but most believe grey interior will go into production next month. The flyover videos from Giga Texas all show that every CT is still being produced with the white interior.

Got the e-mail yesterday. RN 1167 (March 22).

Do not need or want it this early - plan to wait for single motor.

You are in the same boat as a lot of us. I was very surprised to get mine and I made my reservation around the same time you did. This has to mean that Tesla is struggling to get people to buy off on the Foundation Series Cybertruck and the added $20K.

The Cybertruck is a victim of bad timing all around. It has been almost four years since Tesla started taking cybertruck reservations. That was pre-COVID, the economy was booming, supply chain issues weren't a factor and people were taking more risks. So much has happened since.

1. Those who needed to got a new car (we're one of those)
2. Cybertrucks are $20K higher than anticipated and $20K additional for the FS right now
3. All types of insurance (especially auto and homeowners) have gone up drastically and from what I understand the Cybertruck is expensive to insure.
4. Financing a car is twice as expensive as it was back in 2021 (when I was expecting them to be ready to order) so that extra $20K being financed isn't trivial.

I absolutely want it. I have for almost four years, but I am going to have to wait. I was initially planning on buying the Cybertruck spending $60K to $70K for the dual-motor AWD, insurance would have been half as much as it is now, the interest rates would have been between 2.5% to 3.0% and the supply chain would have been stronger. All that has changed and I imagine this is the case for most people.

I'm 2 weeks and 600 miles into my CT journey. It really is an amazing vehicle so I have no regrets!!!
