Just got the call that it's here and I'm picking it up next week Wednesday 5/8!!

I needed more than the allowed 14 days to come up with the liquid $, so I released the the VIN and am now on "hold" for up to 6 mos or until I release the "hold". Will post the new VIN when it happens.

I wasn't aware there was a 14 day limit to finish funding. That seems a little harsh. Would you have otherwise been able to come up with the funds within 4 weeks versus 2 weeks? Bummer you will have to wait another 6 months.

I was unsure I would be able to secure the funding, so asked about releasing the VIN. I did not get a firm answer beyond "we do not want to wait more than a week or two generally" and "If you did we do not know when you would get another VIN". Turns out I now have funding worked out but am now still waiting to schedule a delivery date. I believe my VIN is still in transit after 1 week. Do not expect it for another week or perhaps longer. So being forced to give up the VIN if not completed within 2 weeks seems odd.

Update 2…delivery changed from 5/4 to 5/11. SC (Norfolk) called to let me know 5/3. Reasoning was the CT takes 3x longer for the technicians to inspect than other teslas. I expect it’s also because these are the first deliveries going through this SC.
