I have noticed some interesting weathering of the rubber bit that runs along the sides of the tonneau cover. Not sure if it is UV damage or something else. It will be interesting to see how this holds up over time. Anyone else seeing this?

I got same thing. I live in Florida and I park it outside (too big for garage). Probably UV damage.

I park in garage and mine looks like new. Did you try treating it with something?

This is exactly what mine looked like. But the interesting thing is my truck is garaged and had rarely been exposed to UV for long periods of time. During my last visit for the wiper motor and sail panel replacement I asked the SC Rep and he said it was a hit or miss. Some of them it happens to and some have zero issues. Maybe different batches. My new panels seem to have a softer rubber and different composition. Definitely keeping an eye on it. It drove me crazy.

Hasn't happened to me yet. I do treat with 303 uv protectant, however. This is what I use: https://amzn.to/3MMVu5L

There is also a more expensive aerospace one, but I wouldn't bother with it unless you're often in high altitudes.

I have same and will try 303. How do you keep it from washing off in rain and leaving drip marks? I wipe it on and buff off. I don't leave it wet like an armor all type product.

I would treat that with ceramic coating at the least.

For those of us who wipe down the truck with Sprayway (foaming glass cleaner) or any other ammonia free glass cleaner. I wonder if this will cause a drying out of any and all rubber parts around the truck? In anticipation that it will accelerate the aging and drying out of the rubbers. I've started using a rubber dressing to maintain the oils in these parts. I've never used so much glass cleaner in my life. In 4 months I've used up 6+ large cans of Sparkle and Sprayway just wiping down the truck. I do this instead of a full wash since my water leaves spots which don't clean off easily.
