how far to the sides did you go on it?

I carried it out almost to the edge. Other people I've seen end at the seam that lines up with the tonneau cover. Some posted in this thread another variant that is cheaper but looks to be the same product. In addition to water proof the bed, I added leftover seals to the following areas to prevent water from splashing all over the rear window after an automatic carwash.
