As some of the foundation series trucks are being released some people are posting their trips on medium to long road trips. So as we get an idea of real world range it looks pretty rough.
Highway driving, with HVAC taking up to 800 wh/mile
Can't imagine what that will be when towing something
Should be ok for around town short trips, but 800 wh/mile is brutal

When I first got my Model 3 my "efficiency" was about 800 Wh/mile too. it took several weeks of driving before I could resist "full send" acceleration at every traffic light and highway on-ramp. Their right foot will settle down eventually*

*for most, but not all owners ?

Would need to know how long the trip was, or the conditions, to make an assumption on range or what caused this spike in consumption.

In camp mode for example, I expect it to still use around 3000Wh per hour, but get zero mile range.

Likewise driving up a hill or in sand will get you 800Wh mile easily.

Our aero/rolling resistance calculated consumption is around 400Wh/mile, which is in line with the 340mile EPA range from 123kWh pack.

I have just completed 500 mile trip from NJ to Toronto on my Model X 2019 Raven , the outside temp was 45 F and heat was set lower inside like 64 F.
My average was 480 wh / mile driving average 65 to 75 mph.
So I totally believe for cybertruck will be 600 to 700 wh / mile
I have been driving Tesla for long time , in winter reduce range easily like 35 percent to 40 percent

I don't have a problem believing your numbers for the MX.

As you pointed out your conditions weren't favourable, and I said we would need to know what his conditions were as well, how long the trip was etc, so we knew why they are that high. Hence my examples.

Making predictions based on faulty or incomplete assumptions is not my forte.

If you guys watch their video, they tell you were they drove from and to, temps, speed etc. That is why I mentioned above, context matters. Driving 85 mph, 30°F with the heat in full blast (according to them), you are going to get some “poor numbers”.

Not believing it is anything close to real or typical even at 85 mph. 800wh/mi would deliver 150 miles of range.

Currently 3 people doing long trips (over 1,000 miles) and reporting efficient numbers and charging.
Looks like with highway driving anywhere rom 480-820 wh/mile big spread but finally getting some real world numbers.

As far as people saying this is unrealistic, it is people driving on the highway, not towing anything, without any significant weight in the vehicle.

you probably need some recalibration

under the described conditions, for a vehicle this large, with its Cd, this 800 figure is very possible

especially if, not to mention, our hero driver isn’t familiar with what cold air does to tire PSI, and what even a few PSI difference can make when on 34x11.5 inch ATs

remember, the FS on AT’s the Beast’s EPA conditions range estimate is only 300mi

doesn’t take much to get it to 150 under the above-described conditions

that’s just physics and BEV trucks

So don't get your hopes up for high detail, full numbers etc, mostly people shooting a quick cell video while driving, some give a short peek at the screen.

A couple others out there but think one was deleted and can't seem to find the other.

Hopefully better and more in depth ones come out soon but some of these are getting under 155 miles of range while highway driving an AWD is concerning.

If you don't drive the tested speed limit or have a lead foot you won't get the published range ...

Fun fact: Gas cars don't either! Tow an Airstream with a gasoline F150? 8mpg. Funny how we never talk about that.

Then factor in temperatures ...

No way you're going to "baby" your new Tesla first drive. Heck, I've never even turned off Plaid mode.
