Fuel efficiency goes down at high speeds, and when towing.If you don't drive the tested speed limit or have a lead foot you won't get the published range ...
Fun fact: Gas cars don't either! Tow an Airstream with a gasoline F150? 8mpg. Funny how we never talk about that.
Then factor in temperatures ...
No way you're going to "baby" your new Tesla first drive. Heck, I've never even turned off Plaid mode.
But keeping up with traffic you are going to be doing 70+ out west, and getting under 160 miles of range before hooking up anything to tow is rough.
Hopefully some of these early range reports are not correct.
Not realistic to say that you should get X range, as long as it is 63 degrees, you are going 55 mph, downhill, with a tailwind, and only one 110lb driver in the vehicle.
Time will tell but nice to be getting some real world #s in
