Snacks
More snacks
Water
An ANKER portable battery to charge iPhone
Tesla App
Extra snacks to share with the tow truck driver or Tesla Tech

I’ve clearly given up my self sufficiency. It happened after I bought my first electric car and realized the only thing I could maintain was the wiper fluid….. 😂😂
Thanks. Those are all good suggestions. Most times I’m relatively close to civilization, but even there I need regionally specific supplies. I never go anywhere without bringing a bathing suit. To venture out without a DET insecticide is unwise. Lyme disease, EEE, Zika, dengue, can get you days later, if you don’t scratch your skin off first. The survival strategies become more immediate after abandoning the comfortable seat, excellent air conditioning and great audio and pulling the kayak or bike from the back.

I’m going to rely on the truck to keep my cell phone charged, and avoid the portable battery hassle. It seems a never ending battle to loose the last 10 lbs to reach 200, but my decision making suffers when I’m too hungry, so got to have the snacks. Having water stashed is essential, but that supply is for emergency use only. One issue with keeping food and water in the truck is how hot it gets. I park outside, and keep a cover on the truck, but the interior temperature exceeds 130 every day. Another issue is despite how big the truck is, there is surpassingly little space to store things. I like to keep the bed uncluttered and ready to haul stuff. Every one knows somebody who can’t use the truck bed because of all the stuff in the truck bed. Stuff in the frunk gets tossed around. I keep the back seats folded up, and there’s plenty of room there, as well as the floor between the front seats, but no way to contain things.

I know Tesla sells the rear storage bin, and bungee cord for the frunk. It’s hard for me to understand why they take advantage of their customers like that. What solution have you been using?

You stash the A23 under the cover where the jump wires are located (on the CT it’s front/left).

Thanks for the great tip. I didn’t even know what an A23 battery was. As they are lithium I guess they would store for a while. Will these provide enough power to the LVB to unlock the doors too, or just enough to open the frunk?

Sorry for another question, when unlocking the frunk with a battery, does the power frunk open, or does it just pop the latch?

Can‘t speak for the CT (waiting on a delivery day, haha!!) but for my MYLRs, it just releases the hood latch (there is no factory powered frunk on the MY of course).

I don‘t think the A23 battery could power the CT‘s powered frunk, though.

Help me put together the items I should carry with me when traveling in the Cybertruck. Decades ago my daily transportation was a motorcycle. Rain or shine. It was before they were nearly as reliable as they are today. The motorcycles always came with a tool kit. The Beemers had everything you needed for most repairs, including getting the tire off the rim, pumping it up after patching and a monogramed rag to wipe your hands when finished. The Tesla has an app with a Roadside Assistance button.

My life experience just won’t let me surrender my self sufficiency to that extent yet. So I carry with me those items I think are appropriate to my mode of transportation. I know I don’t have everything I need yet, and I bet some members on the list can help me out with useful suggestions. What I’ve got so far,

Flashlight
Gloves
Duct tape
Screw Driver & Pliers
Tire Plug Kit
Air Compressor
Electric Extension Cable
The Tesla Portable Charger and Charging Adapter
Step Stool
Moving Blanket
Finger Print Remover
Bike Ramp
Recovery Straps
Trailer Hitch and Safety Chain

What else should I carry in the truck?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
Seems like you need a separate kit for winter/snow

So you just need an A23 to open the frunk? There must be some additional security to this.

The frunk can be opened via the external leads only when the LV system is dead.

While it can open the frunk, I doubt a single A23 cell can serve as a jump-start source. You'd need a larger battery, like an ICE jump-start battery, to fire up the main computer and operate the rest of the vehicle. It would need to be in the frunk somewhere.

There might be room under the maintenance panel to stash something, which you'll need to remove anyway to perform a jump-start:

Sadly, there's scarcely enough room behind the HEPA access panel to hide more than a lighter and a little weed.

I find this list vaguely disturbing.

FWIW, having an A23 might get you in the frunk, and jump-starting will open the rest of the vehicle, but you'll still have a dead HV battery.

In the event of a completely dead pack, I'm thinking I will need to call for help regardless. Therefore, I intend to carry a "Cybertruck Rescue Kit" that will allow me to assist such a stranded traveller (open the frunk, jump start, and then charge via Mobile Connector).

Good video showing the jump start process.

This guy uses a NOCO Boost box to re-energize the battery. Prices are pretty reasonable. I messaged him and he recommends the GB150 or GBX150.

If you’re coming to my rescue don’t forget the python repellent.

Chainsaw of the electric type and a pair of underwear.
I think a chainsaw is a very valuable tool to have. After a hurricane there is all sorts of debris blocking the roads. But I don’t want to lug one around every day.
