Or move out of the parent house, whichever is last.
Excellent point. For us that was last (age 31:(). Amazing how much he's matured in the last year (and how much nicer he's gotten!)).

"I even had two teenagers see the truck in the parking lot, pull in, and search the store until they found me. All to ask if they could follow me for a bit and take video. This is not an exaggeration."

I will never forget the day January 2019 when I picked up my high school daughter in my Model 3. She had no idea I purchased it...total surprise and a big smile when I pulled up to her at our meeting spot. The Model 3 was quite popular with her friends. Now I can't wait to drive to/from college with her in the Cybertruck. Soon...

I don’t know if others have similar experience, but as I drive around in CT, most reactions are good/fun, but I’ve had several teenagers flip me off, yell “I hate your truck”, and just today, a girl roll down her window and just yell “F*ck You”.

Perhaps it’s the storyline that they’re dangerous? Or bad for the environment? Something on TikTok saying they’re evil?

*Update
To be clear, I don’t really care that there are people that don’t like it, I love the truck and care about my reasons. But I am curious some of the why’s behind the hate, and it’s been interesting to hear other owner’s exp with different groups.

Totally unscientific survey... The CT reminds me of... 1. a battle transformer, 2. Edward Scissorhands, 3. Origami?

I’ve found in my experience in 3 months that all age groups to pretty much love it BUT the only negative and explicit sentiments I’ve received have been from teenagers trying to sound cool or portray a certain image.

This is getting really boring all the negativity, it’s just a unique vehicle. I love mine and plan to keep it ……..this forum is loosing its usefulness we need more interest in the upgrades as they come along. New products for the truck and positive and intelligent input!
If I had my CT I would feel the very same way as you. But I don’t so I’ll be a sad human till I take delivery ????

Teens were little kids not long ago.
So although their bodies are growing, their little minds are still catching up.
Right now they’re stuck in a transition zone.
They’ll grow out of it but meanwhile, as American philosopher Henry David Thoreau once said, “Little things affect little minds.“

I've gotten nothing but positive feedback from all ages. The older are confused. The younger wants to throw it on their social feed. But the Elon hate came only once but quickly informed of what the "news" paint him to be for white men but in fact he's for humanity first. Once she understood that, the hate was removed from the truck.

When I get people who do not understand the truck I coach them to just think for themselves and remove what they have heard..... now just experience the truck.

It's always been 100% positive be let's be real. Deep down we've all dreamed of something like this when we were young innocent kids before real life hit Lol. Elon just made it happen.

It is truly odd. My experience has been incredibly positive with most people totally loving the truck and endless videos and pictures with it. There have been a few questions and a few “appliance on wheels” comments. Even then the guy just smiled and really loved it after looking at. However, I was driving down the highway and a guy driving his Mazda manufactured in Japan using oil from Saudi Arabia gave me a double bird with my wife in my truck facing him. Like you, I really don't give a flying f.... either way, but I can't even imagine what they are thinking. Is this a political thing; Biden vs Musk? I am not sure the person I saw would be that educated or thoughtful to understand what the real reason he was expressing his right to free speech about. It just seemed like a visceral response. Oh well, it had no bearing on my big smile as I was driving down the highway in my CT enjoying every second of it. Fortunately, my wife just laughed, but had that been any other occassion I would have helped him with his manners with a lady present.

Probably because watching someone drive around a $100k vehicle while they are trying to figure out how to pay for college and barely afford to rent a room somewhere or live with their parents until they are 30+. And a lot of Elons comments and representation of Tesla have really put the next generation somewhat against Tesla.

Except they have no idea how much the CT costs and I doubt they do the same to a Lambo.

Teenagers hate everything. Teenagers love everything

Teenagers are easily impressed with peer pressure.

Assuming that you don't have any other nomenclature, like signs, custom tags, etc., it becomes the same as coal rollers. If I'm not mistaken, some of the biggest illegal diesel modification companies were in Utah.

So it becomes "Save the World" as long as "Don't Tread on Me".

I dare say that someone in the group owns a jacked-up diesel pickup.
You must be talking about the Diesel Bros:
https://www.sltrib.com/news/environment/2021/12/29/appeals-court-affirms/

They don’t own a CT but they’ve been modifying and driving it on their channel and Heavy D now owns the Nikola Badger IP. ?

I took my 17 year old niece and some of her friends to the mall in my Lightning. They loved the frunk when I put all their bags in there. I said "my frunk is going to be a bit smaller soon when my CT gets here."

I didn't expect the negative reaction at this point, but they all basically told me I was awful for buying it. The only one who gave a reason was that it is incredibly unsafe with no crumple zone, any occupant gets severely hurt in a crash even if the truck looks fine. Then that's all they talked about, how unsafe the CT was, until I dropped them off at home.

The whole "no crumple zone" thing is incredibly stupid. Of course it has a crumple zone. Its crumple zone is simply smaller because it does not have a huge mess of steel sitting in the middle of it. ICE vehicles have this thing called an Internal Combustion Engine sitting between the bumper and the passenger compartment. That engine has zero crumple, as a result the amount of vehicle between the bumper and passenger compartment is necessarily large.. So unless you decide to start carrying a large hunk of steel, or concrete, or whatever in your frunk, your Cybertruck has plenty of crumple available in a forward collision. When will people start using their brains, this is why FUD works so well.
