...miss their targets.

It doesn't matter that they chose to or not, because of course they chose to. They still missed the targets.

In reality, it's all about perspective. If you want to apply a negative bias to the statement, or your name is Debbie Downer, then they "missed the targets". To "miss" is to imply and assume there was an attempt that failed.

If you want to be somewhat more neutral, then they "changed the objectives", or "traded goals for different features". This implies and assumes they knowingly abandoned a "target" and internally determined that they no longer wanted to attempt to reach a target, but rather chose a different goal as being a higher priority for the corporate vision of the end product.

I get it, a whole bunch of reservation holders had certain features as very desirable or necessary for their mission. As a result, being negative is far more popular than any other perspective. If you say you still want it, then you're a rich SOB and you don't care about the "little guy" If you like the CT and think there is benefit to the change of goals and final outcome, but say you can't afford it, or you're going to downgrade from your original trim to a lower trim, you are nothing but a Tesla/Elon/Franz fanboy and you aren't being objective. But the truth is, some features not present in the final version were needed, some desired for bragging rights, and some people are hurt by the initial price, and so they are viewing everything negatively. It's true with the evening news, and posting on social media, and here on the forums, being negative is popular.

Since this is a post about what people are unhappy with, it will naturally focus on the negatives. The CT has numerous positives, which are being (vigorously) discussed in other posts.

I can't agree more.
Being a sucker for value, which is fundamentally different from pursuing the best deal (usually means the other side isn't getting the best deal therefore something has to happen with inherent risk), or the best product (usually comes with the highest premium) - I have no choice but to wait patiently until the value proposition falls within my realm of metrics.
