I’ve been thinking about a girlfriend, but after buying a Cybertruck I’m not certain I can afford one.
I'm buying a lot more condoms. You might say driving a Cybertruck is opening a lot more doors for me. ;)

Hey @rjwile. You have a couple interesting posts in the X/twitter history. I might be a Judgey McJudgeystein, but my spidey sense says not sure of your actual intentions. NBC too, you say? And you retweet Lora Kolodney too?

People who get paid to create false narratives are disgusting. I don't know how they can live with themselves. They must have zero self-respect.

Wow, I didn't know house on a beach in Long Island pricing.

Take a look at SoCal on the beach house ...
OR, here's prices for just regular 'track style' homes in the outskirts of Santa Barbara/Goleta (affectionately called 'NoLeta' because it's between the cities)
https://www.redfin.com/zipcode/93111

These are just regular homes, not mansions, not even anywhere near the actual 'beach' either... Most were built back in the 1970's (yep, 50 years ago!)... Hey, but they are ONLY around $1.5 MILLION... (my mom bought hers in 1979 for $19,500!! We sold it 2 years ago for $1.1 million)

My wife and I quickly learned that RV Parks and EV travel are a match made in heaven. At first we would simply sleep in our tent or cargo trailer, and use the 30/50 amp service to charge the truck overnight. But our 4-wheeler often leads us to some remote destinations, where we don't have access to the amenities of an RV Park (electricity, showers, bathroom, etc). So it wasn't long, after we took delivery of our Cybertruck, before we bought a 24-foot toy hauler travel trailer. Now, thanks to our 12kw generator, we can go boondocking without sacrificing any of the amenities/comforts of the RV Park.

Wife and I were considering buying a vacation condo, but since buying our Cybertruck and having to pay $1.25 per kW to charge it up at Superchargers as well as our insurance rate of over $4,000 a year for it, AND our model Y needs new tires (with only 6000 miles on them!). Not to mention we still need to get it vinyl coated (quoted $8,700 + another $2,500 for window tinting), some running boards (another $4,500)... So, we will be putting off the purchase of the condo for at least another 6 months or so! Oh, and the wife wants a new Gulf Stream too... the old G3 just isn't fast enough for her anymore and doesn't have the range either... hehe...

Hi all,
My name is Rob Wile, I"m a business reporter with NBC News. I'm working on a story on the "must-have" high-end purchases of the year, and what seems clear so far is that Cybertrucks are definitely on the list. What I'm hoping to learn is what else you guys are seeing, or purchasing directly, on the higher-end side that fits alongside the a Cybertruck "lifestyle" as far as popular big-ticket items this year — or even just anything you might have considered or had your eye on. If you want to get in touch directly my email is rob dot wile at nbcuni dot com. Thanks so much in advance.
Honestly, the PowerShare capability has triggered my interest in solar power. I consider myself a lowkey prepper so PowerShare was an exciting addition to the Cybertruck. But it has only fueled my interest in losing dependency on the main power grid. Tesla isn't quite ready to combine solar with PowerShare but I understand it was scheduled for Q4. It could be out and I just haven't heard.

I wouldn't wait on getting the solar started... It can take a while...

If you do though, I still suggest getting battery backups on the solar as well... Remember, your CT won't (likely) be hooked up 24/7 and every time you disconnect it you will be without power again!

Our solar system is a 10.8 (couldn't go over 11 without a LOT more hassle here in my area - otherwise I would have gone up to about 12 kWh system) and has 2 Powerwall 3's, which are ONLY 13.5 kWh batteries (compared to 123 of the CT!!) so even with 2 of them, I only have 27 kWh's of power... BUT, that is PLENTY to just run the house for a few days, IF I don't use them for charging that is... hehe...

BUT, once charged up, my SOLAR system (alone) is able to generate enough to get my Model YLR enough 'juice' for my LONG daily commute (88 miles).

Where I live, we get lots of fog though (like right now) because we're so close to the beach...

BUT, on a BAD day like today (rain, and now THICK fog), it generated 8.3 kWh... On a GOOD and SUNNY day (like back in Sept.) I average about 48 kWh per day... Could have been much more if my roof was different (half flat, half angled), but that's why I went up to 10.8 kWh system...

Oh, and when it's doing nicely, it SELLS the power back to the power company!! My bills all summer were about -$58 bucks a month! Instead of the $350 they usually are! Of course that was with just the model y... hehe... Now with the CT 'added' it will likely be about breakeven... I now wish I had installed 4 PWs... oh well, I guess I can always upgrade down the road...

But in any case, BOTH are paying for themselves! My Model YLR saves me about $300 a month in gas over my old car (Dodge Charger R/T Hemi) and the solar is saving us about $350 a month...

Get several quotes for solar... THEN check with Tesla! They will match the price and their Powerwalls are pretty awesomely efficient compared to others AND the panels actually LOOK GOOD on my roof! My neighbor (who has solar from someone else - and it's a 'leased' system - yech) came over and saw it and was like... Da*n, that looks so much better than mine... hehe.. yes it does...

So, get quotes, get powerwalls enough to run your house for a day or two (if you have outage longer than that just 'cut back' on use if you can)... Ours is setup as a 'whole house' backup which even includes the hot tub!! Funny, the power could be out and I could be sitting in the hot tub, music blasting away, lights on out back and such... hehe... will likely never happen at the same time though... But if I hook up the CT it could last for WEEKS!!
