Feels like launch day is getting close enough to ask this question! To Wrap or Not to Wrap?

CT Wrap Poll.jpg
A year ago I started thinking of putting something on the CT and then a few months ago I ordered the vinyl. It is an emblem, one for each front door. I may add to them later. The truck will remain mostly pristine.

I like the pure aesthetic of stainless steel, but want to see the creative wraps of others.

I have thought of experimenting with a temporary, disposable poor man’s wrap for special occasions. Colored shelf paper in pastels for Easter, orange for Halloween, red and green for Christmas. Could be a fun family activity. ‘Grab a can of spray paint and shelf paper, kids. We’re going to make a Batmobile!”

Similar to what I did. Different emblem.

As more photos video surface, a common denominator is … fingerprints everywhere

Which comports with my experience of SS to date

increasingly thinking a wrap will be a common solution to those like me that would develop a nervous tick with a truck that collects any oily residue like this:

I would personally do a very deep gothic matte black.

I'd murder the thing out like I am the Ying Yang Twins in a 2007 Tahoe. No rims, just wrap it.

And then when I get over reliving my glory day's, I'll just peel it off with no concerns of long term paint damage.

Glare off the SS at this altitude is likely to be retina scorching. So yeah, probably a wrap just to cut the glossiness.

You know, I would love to see this thing in satin black... half way between matte and gloss... lets just hope the Matte black is still a thing for it when it's time for orders.

Pay big bucks to cover a scratch-proof surface with something highly susceptible to scratches? Probably not.

I do wonder how the CT would respond to a ceramic sealant like this though:

Last month at the Long Beach Grand Prix I saw what I think was the most beautiful racecar I've ever seen. This Acura with the deep blue metallic wrap was awesome. I would like to put just a low stripe of that blue on the bottom few inches of the doors. That could be my way of personalizing my Cybertruck. Of course there are lots of nice flat surfaces like the tailgate that could be great for stickers or something fun.

Does anyone have a reputable guess on the dimensions of the tailgate in case I want to try to put a skin on it for logo?

Finger wraps are cheaper.

I suspect that Tesla will have a solution for this on the production vehicle. After all, no other Tesla has no handle of any kind to at least touch with oily fingers. If not, finger wraps!

For city folk adopting a truck for the first time, maybe they can do a Mud wrap to look tough :p

No, but I do have a less-than-reputable well educated guess of no less than 50"x19" high.
Based on 48" (the width of a sheet o' plywood, plus a couple of inches the tailgate overhangs the back of the bed sides, and 19"...well, just 'cause.
