Window and Sunroof Tint

Hello I was planning on tinting my CyberBeast windows and windshield. I was thinking about also adding in the sunroof tint, but I do have the sun shade which came with the Foundation Series. Was wondering if it’s worth it to tint the sunroof as well and if the sunroof glass is still having issues and cracking after some time? I live in Texas and it gets extremely hot in the summer months. I’m using XPEL Prime Plus. Thank you for your input everyone!

I would be very cautious about tenting the sunroof, many vehicles have cracked because it reflects the heat back into the door glass. There’s already a tent from the factory on it.

The problem can occur if you apply the tint on the inside. If it’s applied on the outside it shouldn’t be a problem

Tinted on the inside no issues.... know many others with the same. I think there was like only 1 or 2 cases of them cracking. Extremely rare.

yes, ceramic tinting makes a huge difference and is the first thing I'd recommend to any new CT owner

XPEL works with Tesla Warranty https://lp.xpel.com/tesla-window-film. Tesla sent out an email with this partnership a couple weeks ago so I've been highly considering it. I don't want too dark of a tint.

Got it in my Model Y and love it, just been scared to get the roof done due to the cost of replacement it it cracks and thought the roof already had a good bit of heat rejection

Does that include the roof glass? Thought you were SOL if the roof glass cracked and it had tint on it.

You'd probably be better off asking them. From their FAQ I see:
"XPEL offers a lifetime warranty for defects. In addition to the XPEL warranty, Tesla will also cover the film replacement if the glass requires replacement due to glass defect or breakage during the new vehicle warranty period."

There have been a ton with Tesla overall. Only a few on here with the CT.

There are many threads on TMC. Most cases resulted in the user having to replace the glass, some Tesla covered.

No, it happens to EVERY Cybertruck!! Haven't you seen the articles and stuff on all those 'car' sites? Besides, it's on the Internet so it MUST be true!! hehe...

Tesla now offering it through xpel so guess the roof glass cracking is not such a big deal.
