For anyone who has tinted the windows could you please share your experiences and suggestions?

What %'s did you go with?

Did you tint the windshield?

Pics???

If anyone in NJ has any helpful tips, curious how much we can get away with before it becomes a pull over nuisance.

Thanks in advance, appreciate it!

I'm live in NJ, eagerly awaiting my CyberBeast, and I'm planning to apply a 20% tint to all windows except the front, as a darker tint there might overly reduce visibility. I've had the same 20% tint on my Model 3 for the past three years without any issues or being pulled over by the police. Interestingly, I believe the fact that it's a Tesla might play a role in this, as when I had my Dodge Charger with the same 20% tint, I experienced several stops by the police each year.

LoL that's crazy, hopefully same luck with cyberbeast!

Was thinking going 20% too, just watched this video seems to match up to back windows perfectly.

Thanks!

I had my normal shop do my windshield for $600 (xpel xr plus). They have been flawless for 15-20 cars that they worked for me/family/ friends but for the CT windshield, it was bad. The windshield had snowflake and ghosting. They admitted they tried their best but were not up to the challenge of the CT windshield and refunded me.

Then went to OCD as they were also doing my wrap and they costed 1.6k for 3m. No issues.

Mine is the stek green CT they wrapped.

Go big or go home …5%
I went 5% and am so happy I did. Tried a window at 20% and it was still too see-through for me so had my installer redo with the 5%. But I was trying to be blocked out from everyone taking photos of me while driving more than any UV or heat protection! Having the side windows so dark made me not really need to do front windshield. Although I may end up doing front anyway.

Haha, totally agree on using the tint to block people from taking photos!

Maytag solar oven.
You don't have to go dark but go with as much solar rejection as your budget can handle, my son's truck had overheat protection off due to him getting tired of the truck loosing 20% battery a day between it and sentry mode. Truck got over 140 degrees inside before he tinted everything, windshield, roof, doors, etc.
If you live in the southern half of the US spend the $2k to prevent it from boiling.

I went 15% on the sides. 50% on the windshield & roof. all in 3M ceramic ir.

Windshield still isn’t right. Shop is really struggling with it. They have tried twice.

I had them take the roof glass tint down due to light gaps from the sensors.

Taking a break until I can find a shop that can execute the windshield & roof glass.

I went with 20% on the sides and 55% on the windshield. I’ll post some pics tomorrow. Looks great, and helped a ton with all of the photos being taken. Now maybe my face won’t show up in random places on the internet ?

I went to my regular tint/ceramic shop that has done my other vehicles. It was their first cybertruck, but they do a ton of Teslas. Admittedly the windshield was a challenge for them, but they warned me in advance that they’d need 4-5 hours vs their normal 2. It came out great!

25% front windows (to match back windows) and 70% windshield, roof, and back windows. Mainly wanted infrared heat rejection and UV protection.
