The Cybertruck has been the best vehicle I have ever owned but unfortunately the windshield wiper is so atrocious and unusable that it is barely better than the windshield wipers on my 1953 MGTD. I try not to drive the Cybertruck in heavy rain because FSD won't work in the rain and I have to manually press the wiper button all the time because it often doesn't work automatically in the rain. It will work automatically when the sun is out but not when it's raining!

When my windshield gets dirty and I hit the washer, sometimes it will go into panic mode and tell me to take over immediately, with flashing red steering wheel. Software update needed.

Cybertruck is the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. But agree there are some little nuances to it. The wiper with salt slush being its kryptonite.

I use it as a daily driver and have no issues with FSD in the rain (unless it’s heavy rain) or the wiper in regular rain.

My key thing is making sure the service techs actually do their job correctly. That was the crux of my issue.

Luckily, I’m at the service center and they took me in without an appointment, had a wiper motor in stock, and it should be ready in a few hours.

My mom had an MGB in the 70s, I loved that thing!

We don’t get much rain here in the desert but you and I have landed on the same solution which is pushing that stupid button a lot to get it to do what you want to do.

I have had the same issue of wipes in perfectly clear weather on the interstate on long drives. I do know that the wiper will by default go to "auto" even if you had manually set it to "off" whenever autopilot or FSD is enabled. I would like to have a driver activated setting to set the wipers "off" for just a temporary period of time set by the driver to overcome false activations when the driver knows it is safe to do so when no rain expected for the drive.

I forgot to mention that you can't turn it off because FSD resets it to auto. This will prematurely wear out the wiper because it's constantly wiping a dry windshield. Hopefully it won't damage the windshield but I have heard that some people have had their windshield replaced because of that. I use FSD 99% of the time.
