Hello all, I've have had my CT since mid November and have just noticed my windshield has 4 uniform scratches seemingly caused from the wiper. Since I've got the truck I've been using a touchless wash nearby every 10 days or so but it was nice out today so I decided to do a self wash and I noticed some lines on the windshield when the water was dripping down before I went to dry it. They are practically invisible when dry but when wet I can see the water pool up a bit and I can feel the scratches with my fingernail. I did take it in for service a couple months ago once and one of the issues I told them the wiper was leaving streaks, they replaced the blade but still had streaks during the winter. No telling when the scratches happened but I'm here to ask if anyone else has had similar issues and if there is any type of coating that could fix the scratches or if it can be repaired under warranty? They don't feel all that deep and I can't even see them when the windshield is clean and dry, I just don't want the blade to continue scratching up the windshield and making it worse. I've attached a video and a photo below where you can see them.

(I have no clue why the video uploaded upside down ?)

I just went and rechecked mine & see no issues; have you turned them on with ice or snow on the windshield?

I can't see them in the pics, but your wipers can scratch your windshield if they have some debris under them (sand, rock dust, etc)

It's common on all vehicles but could happen more easily if the glass is on the softer side

I definitely have with snow and I’d bet the auto wiper has gone off with ice. I’ve generally done a good job of cleaning the car regularly since due to all the salt used on the roads here.

something I also noticed after inspecting after my post. It looks like the little metal pieces on the blade might have caused the scratches. It looks like black coating on the metal is worn off and the metal pieces line up with the scratch marks. I’ve attached a photo of it below.

I'm not thrilled with the wiper taking a swipe at random times. Service said to turn it from Auto to Off, which I had already tried. I didn't see much difference and it still swipes in the Off setting.

If the window is dry, this doesn't seem like a great idea to me. Dust and grit will score the glass much more quickly without the lubricating effect of water.

And it doesn't help that the wiper has the downforce of a Formula One race car...

Time will tell if this is a legitimate concern or not.

My windshield has the scratches also. The car will swipe if it feels the windshield camera is obscured. I think this windshield material is softer than regular car windshield. I was considering complaining and if Tesla replaced the windshield - have a Ppf shop put clear Ppf windshield film on the outside to protect the windshield. Also the wiper does have a lot of force pushing it down - because it is so long- wonder if that spring is adjustable in terms of pressure?

I just have one random swipe with the large wiper blade. I just think it’s trying to say something, so I say “hello.”

That's unfortunate, this car is a marvel of tech yet they couldn't get the windshield wiper right haha. I'm waiting for a fix for the cantrail recall to come out before taking it in. Been wanting to wrap and tint so cantrail and now windshield need to be fixed before doing that ??‍♂

Got my truck 8/24. Had issues with windshield, wiper, motor and the spray pump. Also had mini cracks in the windshield glass as well as wiper caused arch shaped glass scratches. Tesla replaced all the items. They work good enough now, but not perfect. The issue I now have with the windshield besides the wiper turning on in the off setting, in the mornings the condensation forming on the outside of the windshield basically can not be cleaned off. It is very hard to see out especially in the early morning with car headlights in your eyes. I tried defog at various temperatures even matching the outside temp thinking that would stop the condensation. No luck.

What works for me is to lower all the windows and leave the defogger on. Once I get up to speed, the mist dissipates.

Was very rainy today and got some clearer shots of the scratches for reference. Going to talk to SC to address this and cantrail very soon.
