Update 2025.38.9.6 (FSD 14.2.1)
Full Self-Driving (Supervised) v14.2.1 includes:

- Upgraded the neural network vision encoder, leveraging higher resolution features to further improve scenarios like handling emergency vehicles, obstacles on the road, and human gestures. (New in FSD V14.2)

- Added Arrival Options for you to select where FSD should park: in a Parking Lot, on the Street, in a Driveway, in a Parking Garage, or at the Curbside.

- Added handling to pull over or yield for emergency vehicles (e.g. police cars, fire trucks, ambulances).

- Added navigation and routing into the vision-based neural network for real-time handling of blocked roads and detours.

- Added additional Speed Profile to further customize driving style preference.

- Improved handling for static and dynamic gates.

- Improved offsetting for road debris (e.g. tires, tree branches, boxes).

- Improve handling of several scenarios including: unprotected turns, lane changes, vehicle cut-ins, and school busses.

- Improved FSD's ability to manage system faults and recover smoothly from degraded operation for enhanced reliability.

- Added alerting for residue build-up on interior windshield that may impact front camera visibility. If affected, visit Service for cleaning!

- Added automatic narrow field washing to provide rapid and efficient front camera self-cleaning, and optimize aerodynamics wash at higher vehicle speed. (2026+ Model Y only)

- Camera visibility can lead to increased attention monitoring sensitivity. (New in FSD v14.2.1)

Upcoming Improvements:

- Overall smoothness and sentience.

- Parking spot selection and parking quality.

Praying that the highway performance of FSD and horrendous map performance get fixed back to 14.1.7! That is all I am asking!

I was driving at night last night and it phantom brakes hard in middle of the drive for no reason. No rain, no leaves, nothing. Hopefully this update gets rids of map and these phantom events.

I was offered 14.2 this morning. I’m still on 14.1.7 Am I reducing the likelihood of receiving 14.2.1 by not downloading 14.2?

14.1.7 has resulted in me experiencing the brake stabbing effect occasionally when FSD moves from a stop sigh or stop light. In the traffic environment I most often drive this has resulted in one near miss where the car behind me nearly rear ended my truck.

I would go ahead and install, 14.2 is an improvement overall for me with the exception of some odd routing errors. If you just sit on the install, your truck will be in limbo for quite a while before you get any more chances to download and install.

The only people who are an exception to this are early access. So generally speaking, install soon as you get something.

14.2.1 is on the way, maybe wait to see how that version does. You are not missing anything from 14.1.7 to 14.2.

14.2.1 does appear any different than 14 2 as far as speed profiles go.

First drive with latest update- I was hoping it would be better but No- still can’t use FSD in town because the speed limits are still wrong. I will not do 45+ in a 35. This sucks.

If they can’t get this right, at least give me back the ability to adjust maximum speed so I can use FSD.

That was either for Sloth or Mad Max. The whole list is: Sloth, Chill, Standard, Hurry, and Mad Max.

But those were already there in 14.1, the line for “added additional speed profile” is new for 14.2
